NettieG's Challenge--Let's Tag It for Christmas

I have been SOOOO incredibly swamped with semester exams and a yearbook deadline at work (along with fighting a cold AND laryngitis!) that I completely FORGOT to post the latest challenge at NettieG's Digital Gems!  OOPS!!

This will be my last challenge for NettieG's, as I have stepped down from the Design Team.  I've had a WONDERFUL time on the Design Team and have really enjoyed working with Nettie, Jen, and the rest of the Design Team members.  Unfortunately, things are getting a little crazy for me and will be even more so in the next few months, so I'm having to cut back on a few things.  Thanks to Nettie and Jen for allowing me to be a part of the team!

For the newest challenge, we'd like to see your Christmas tags using the non-traditional colors of pink, blue, and lilac as the dominant colors.  You can use neutral colors as well, but we'd like you to keep them to a minimum.  I chose to use the NettieG's image Christmas Window for my tag.
I colored the ribbon and window edges with Crayola colored pencils then used pink glitter to accent the snow on the window panes and white glitter on the wreath.  I used my Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to emboss the pink background.

We'd LOVE to see what kind of tags you can create!  Be sure to get your project linked up on the NettieG's Digital Gems Challenge blog by December 26.  NettieG's is also looking for new Design Team members; if you're interested, please follow the link in the challenge post.  Good luck, Merry Christmas, and happy scrapping!

CDAC Progressive Challenge 8

I'm getting this in by the skin of my teeth tonight!  I'm really enjoying being a part of the CDAC Progressive Challenge.  The images we're receiving are AWESOME!!!

I chose the puppy dog image to use on this thank you card that's going to be given to our veterinarian.  We recently had a major health scare with our St. Bernard, and our vet literally saved her life.  We will be forever grateful to her!  I'm in the process of making a layout including pictures of Sweet Pea (our St. Bernard) and Dr. Landen which will be framed and given to Dr. Landen as a small token of our appreciation.

Happy scrapping, everyone!

Paper Cutz Challenge #118--Jingle All the Way!

I can't BELIEVE I forgot to post this yesterday!!!  To all of you who normally check for my Paper Cutz Challenge posts, I am SOOOO sorry!!!!  All the entries from the last challenge were GREAT!  For our new challenge, we want you to channel the Christmas season with your jingle bells for "Jingle All the Way!"  Make a card, LO, or craft project using a stamped, digital stamp, or Cricut cut image of jingle bells using any colors you'd like.  When I started looking through all of my stuff, I could find any images, but I DID have some REAL jingle bells!

You've got until midnight EST on Thursday, December 15 to get your project linked up at the Paper Cutz Challenge blog.  We can't WAIT to see your jingle bells!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Lollipop Crafts Sponsor Spotlight--Karber Stamps

Well, today is my last post as a Guest Designer for Lollipop Crafts.  It has been so much fun playing along with the entire team over there!  Thank you for allowing me to join in for the past month!

The spotlight this week is for Karber Stamps.  I LOVE the "Best Friends" image I was provided to work with!
The entire card actually came together very quickly!  I ended up buying larger size cards than I meant to last weekend at Hobby Lobby, but everything worked out in the end.  I actually REALLY enjoyed working with the larger size cards!  I'll be entering this at Cards & Things challenges, where they asked us to follow this sketch:
I love this sketch and thought it was SO simple to work with!  I actually used a variation of it again on another card I made last night.

If you get the chance, hop over to Karber Stamps and check out their stuff.  It's SOOOO cute!!!  I think I'm going to have to buy more.  Also, don't forget to play along at Lollipop Crafts this week!  You've still got a few days to get your project linked up.  Thanks, again, ladies for allowing me the pleasure of joining you for the month of November as a Guest Designer!  It's been a blast!

LiaStampz Challenge #8--Fancy Folds

Is it time for a new challenge at LiaStampz already?  WOW!  Time flies when you're having fun! :-)  Our newest challenge deals with Fancy Folds.
The image is Haley from LiaStampz, and the word "Winter" on Haley's sign is a separate sentiment from LiaStampz as well.  I colored the image with Crayola colored pencils and added a little white sparkle glitter powder to the snow on the sign and the ball on her stocking cap.  The sentiment on the outside of the card is from the "Have a Cool Yule" stamp set from Crafty Sprouts that I won as blog candy recently, and my fancy fold is tri-fold card template from Let's Party Hearty that I purchased at the Scrapbook Expo a while back.

We'd LOVE to see what kind of fancy fold card you can create!  You've got until December 14 to get your card linked up at LiaStampz.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

********************************************************

It's time for a new challenge at NettieG's Digital Gems!  Our theme for this challenge is two on one--two digital stamps from different companies on one project.  As a design team, we were asked to use one image from NettieG's and were given a second image from Digistamps 4 Joy.
The NettieG's image I chose was EmilynMommyzClothes, and I used this sketch from Sketch File and will be entering my card there:
You've got two weeks to get your projects linked up at NettieG's!  Remember--the theme is two on one--two digital stamp images from different companies on one project.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #59--B is for . . .

Happy Monday!  Well, not really.  I don't really like Mondays, but ESPECIALLY the Monday after a long vacation!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday last week.

This is my next-to-last post for Lollipop Crafts.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being a guest designer for them this month!  This week's challenge is "B is for . . ."  For me, B is for BIRTHDAY!
I used this sketch for my card, and it also qualifies for one of the card challenges in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin'.
The buttons all came from my button drawer, and the ribbon is from my stash.  The sentiment was a free digital image from the progressive challenge at CDAC, so I'll be uploading my card there as well.  If you enjoy working with digital images and want to pick up some free ones, check it out!  You've got until November 30 to pick up the first set of images and get a project uploaded.

What does 'B' stand for in YOUR project?  Be sure to get your project uploaded to Lollipop Crafts before December 4, and check back here on Thursday for this week's spotlight.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Pattie's Creations Design Challenge #34--Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We enjoyed our last Thanksgiving here at Camp Pendleton by staying home, watching football, and cooking our favorite Thanksgiving foods--turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, rolls, pumpkin pie, and pecan pie.  YUM!!!

It's time once again for a new challenge at Pattie's Creations!  This one should be easy for everyone--CHRISTMAS!!  Here's my card:
When I saw this image of Pattieboop and Allie Waiting for Santa in the Pattie's Creations Digital Images store, I knew I HAD to use it for this card!  I used this sketch from Sketch n Stash, so I'll be entering my card over there:
Everything I used on my card came from my stash--patterned paper, ribbon, and rhinestones.  I also used gold Stickles for some accents on my patterned paper and glitter powder on the Santa hats and snow on the windowsill to add some shimmer.

Be sure to hop over to Pattie's Creations Design Challenge and get your Christmas project linked up by December 16.  Yep!  You've got THREE weeks to complete this challenge!  So, come on!  What are you waiting for?!?  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

My Partner in Crafting Crime Challenge #36--Christmas Tags

If you're here for my Lollipop Crafts Guest Designer post, please scroll down!

******************************************************************

It's time for the last challenge of 2011 at My Partner in Crafting Crime!  We're taking the month of December off so we can all get ready for the holidays, but we've got one last Christmas challenge for you--Christmas tags!  Here's what I came up with for this week's challenge:

I used some patterned paper and an image from Graphic 45's Christmas Past collection and added a piece of green cardstock in between.  The ribbon is from my stash, and I added some gold Stickles to give the tag a little Christmas bling.

We can't WAIT to see your Christmas tags!  Be sure to get them linked up to My Partner in Crafting Crime's blog before December 4.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #58--ANYTHING GOES!!

Happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you're all planning some quality time with your families this week for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Before you get to that, check out the newest challenge at Lollipop Crafts!  This week, ANYTHING GOES, so I created this layout:
All of the patterned papers are from Graphic 45's Christmas Past collection, and the green ribbon is from Bo Bunny.  I also completed this layout as part of the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's 24-Hour Challenge.

I know everyone must be working on Thanksgiving or Christmas projects right now, so be sure to hop over to Lollipop Crafts and get your linked up!  We can't WAIT to see your creations!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Paper Cutz Challenge #117--Let's Talk Turkey!

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!  Not only is it Friday, but I am officially on Thanksgiving break!  OH, YEAH!!!  Teachers need Thanksgiving break as much as the students do! :-)

It's time for a new challenge at the Paper Cutz Challenge!  Let's Talk Turkey, people!!! LOL!  Yep!  Our challenge for the next two weeks is all about turkeys.  We want to see turkeys featured on your projects.
I tried to recreate a card I found in one of my card magazines from my stash.  The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny's Forever Fall 6x6 pad, and the cardstock was in my stash.  I received the twine in a big bundle in some blog candy I won a while back, and the turkey and sentiment were both in my stash.  I think I picked them up at Michael's not too long ago.

I can't WAIT to see what you've all got in store for this challenge!  I'm also going to be entering mine at The Paper Variety.  Remember--you've got two weeks to get your project completed and linked up at the Paper Cutz Challenge.  Good luck, happy scrapping, and Happy Thanksgiving!

NettieG's--Gratitude is my Attitude

If you're here to see my creation for Lollipop Crafts, please scroll down!

*************************************************************

It's time for a new challenge at NettieG's!  We had some wonderful entries for our recipe challenge, and I can't WAIT to see what you all have in store for the new challenge.  Our new theme is Gratitude is my Attitude, which means we want to see cards of thanks.  I used the Mr. Ian Inchworm from NettieG to make an education-themed thank you card.
I embossed the pice of red cardstock with my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder before adhering it to the blue base.  The ribbon and sentiment stamp are both from my stash, and I colored the image with Crayola colored pencils, then adhered it with pop dots.

How do you interpret our theme?  Will you make a thank-you card or a Thanksgiving project?  We can't WAIT to find out!  Be sure to get your project linked up at NettieG's Digital Gems Challenge blog by Sunday, November 27.  Happy scrapping, everyone!

Lollipop Crafts Challenge #57--Embossing and NO patterned paper!

Happy Monday, everyone!  It's time for another challenge at Lollipop Crafts!  I'm really enjoying being the guest designer at Lollipop Crafts this month, and I hope you're enjoying seeing my creations for them as well.  This week, the challenge is to use embossing (heat, dry, etc.) and NO patterned paper!  I found this challenge really easy, as I'd made a Christmas card similar earlier this year, so I decided to go along the same lines.
For my background, I used a sentiment stamp along with clear embossing powder from Close To My Heart.  I had to stamp the words four separate times in order to cover the entire background.  I added a piece of ribbon from my stash across the top, and finished it off with some ornament stickers I picked up Hobby Lobby.  Voila!

How do YOU like to emboss?  Be sure NOT to use any patterned paper on your project, but also make sure we can see how you used the embossing technique.  You've got until the weekend to get your project linked up at Lollipop Crafts.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

I had intended to make a new project for Day 3 of the hop, but we had to take our St. Bernard back to the vet today, and there just wasn't time.  SO!  I've decided I'll share a few more layouts I made for my husband's deployment album.

I think these are some of my favorite layouts for his album.  There's something unique about each one, yet I love them all!

As promised, I've got blog candy again today--a THIRD $10 gift card!  This one will be to your choice of Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or JoAnn's, so when leaving your comment be sure to also leave a way to contact you.  If you're trying for the BIG giveaway, you've got to leave a comment each day AND be a follower.  As with yesterday, here are the requirements for the giveaways:

Marine Corps Birthday Blog Hop--Day 2!

If you're here to visit my blog post for Pattie's Creations, please scroll down!

**********************************************************

Happy Veterans' Day!  Welcome back for Day 2 of the Marine Corps Birthday Blog Hop!  Thanks to all who stopped by yesterday and left comments.  Remember--for those of you who stop by and leave comments all three days, you'll be entered into the big giveaway at the end of the hop.

Today is the day we honor all military veterans--past and present--who have fought to keep our wonderful country free.  Thank to all of you!  My dad is a U.S. Army veteran, serving as a military policeman in Munich, Germany, from 1962-1964.  His uncle was a member of the U.S. Navy and fought and was killed during World War II in Japan.  My husband's grandfather was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and fought at Guadalcanal.  Last--but CERTAINLY not least!--my husband is a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps and has served proudly for the past 19 1/2 years.  Thanks to my wonderful, handsome husband for giving up everything he has for the past twenty years!

For today's projects, I thought I'd post a few layouts I've done recently about my husband.  I hope he doesn't visit my blog today, as he hasn't seen these yet!

I made both of these layouts as part of a deployment album for my husband, which I'm hoping to give to him this December.  It may not be finished when I give it to him, but he won't mind.  He loves things I make for him, and I think he'll especially like this album.

As promised yesterday, I've got blog candy again today--another $10 gift card!
--Become a follower of my blog (if you're not already).
--Leave me a comment telling me you're a new follower or a follower already.
--To be eligible for the small drawings, you only need to comment on an individual day.
--To be eligible for the large drawing, you must comment each day of the hop AND be a follower.
All winners will be announced on Sunday, November 13.

Pattie's Creations Challenge #33--Birthdays OR Thanksgiving

If you're here for Day 1 of the Marine Corps Birthday Blog Hop, click here.

***********************************************************

Happy Friday, everyone!  That means it's time for a new challenge at Pattie's Creations!  Our theme for this challenge is birthdays OR Thanksgiving.
As you can see, I decided on a birthday card.  I LOVE the Chef Pattieboop image I used from Pattie's Creations!  I colored the image with Crayola colored pencils (my new fave!), then adhered it to white cardstock before using pop dots to attach it to the red cardstock.  I distressed the edges of the red cardstock with blue ink.  The green letter stickers were from my stash, and the other letters were cut from patterned birthday paper from my stash.  I'm also entering this at this week's Birthday Sundaes challenge.

We'd LOVE to see what you can create for this challenge!  Be sure to get your creation linked up to the Pattie's Creations Challenge site before Thursday, November 24, and be sure to come back to my blog later today for Day 2 of my Marine Corps Birthday Blog Hop.  I'll have another project and another giveaway!  Happy scrapping!

Marine Corps Birthday Blog Hop

HAPPY 236TH BIRTHDAY, MARINES!!  As we celebrate the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, we also remember all men and women who have chosen to serve our country so we can all be free.  I'd like to say a special thank you to my husband, who has served this country proudly for the past 19 1/2 years as a United States Marine.  He's been through five deployments, including three tours to Iraq, and he missed the birth of our son by two weeks and one day.  I am so proud to stand beside him as his wife!

Thanks for stopping by on our hop!  The ladies participating have some GREAT projects!  Some of them may be giving away blog candy, too, so be sure you visit everyone.  This is a three-day hop, and most of us will have a new project every day, so we'd LOVE it if you'd visit all three days!  My first project is a birthday card for the Marines:
Using a piece of navy blue cardstock, I stamped small Eagle, Globe, & Anchors (part of the Marine Corps logo) and then embossed them using clear embossing powder and my heat gun.  I adhered it to a blank card base and affixed a piece of red, white, & blue ribbon and a small piece of white cardstock to the blue background.  The USMC emblem diecut was in my stash, and the numbers '236' were stickers from my stash and represent the age of the Marine Corps.

I'm planning to have three small giveaways and one big one for this hop.  To be entered into the random drawing for each one, here's what you need to do:
--Become a follower of my blog (if you're not already).
--Leave me a comment telling me you're either a follower already or a new follower.
--To be eligible for the large drawing, you must comment each day of the hop AND be a follower.
--To be eligible for the small drawings, you only need comment on an individual day.
That's it!  Today's prize is a $10 gift card to Michael's, Joann's, or Hobby Lobby--your choice!  All winners will be announced on Sunday, November 13.

Here's the blog hop lineup, in case you get lost along the way:
1.  Ashley (That's me!)
2.  Beckie
3.  Anita
4.  Alina
5.  Angela

Your next stop is Beckie.  Thanks for stopping by, and if you know a service member or veteran, be sure to take a moment to tell them thank you for their service.  If it weren't for them, we wouldn't have the freedoms we have today!
