One of my son's friends has a birthday party tomorrow that we can't make it to, so we're sending a present to school on Monday with Joseph for the little boy.  Just another opportunity for me to make a card!  This time, I used Card Sketch #10 at Sketch-N-Scrap:
 And here's my card:

Since I made this card base myself, I didn't have an envelope to go with it, so I pulled out my new WeRMemoryKeepers Envelope Punch Board and made one!  This was the first time I'd used the punch board, and I was surprised at how SUPER easy it was to make an envie.  I will DEFINITELY be using this again!

Supplies used:
~Echo Park Boys Mini Theme patterned paper
~Echo Park A Boy's Life 6x6 mini pad

Challenges entered:
~Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' Monthly Card Challenge--animal
~Party Time Tuesdays Anything Goes #139
~Pattie's Creations Animals #76
~Sketch-N-Scrap Card Sketch #10

Happy scrapping!

Happy birthday, Dad!

Happy birthday, Dad!  I know my dad doesn't read my blog (He doesn't do that much on the COMPUTER, for that matter!), but I wanted to wish him happy birthday anyway and share his birthday card.

I found this Super Hero image from KennyK while I was cleaning off my scrap table.  It was already colored, so it was that much easier!  I used this sketch from Seize the Sketch:

Supplies used:
~Super Hero image by KennyK
~Crayola colored pencils
~American Crafts Party Animal stamp set

Challenges entered:
~Crafty Catz--birthday card
~3 Girl JAM--celebration
~Party Time Tuesdays--Anything Goes #139
~Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' Monthly Card Challenge--Anything Goes #2

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Happy scrapping!

Through the Purple Haze challenge--Inspired by a film/book/song/hero

Happy Monday, everyone!  I'm so happy to be here with my first challenge as part of Team A of the DT at Through the Purple Haze!  Everyone there has made me feel so welcome already, and I'm looking forward to working with everyone.

This week's challenge is sponsored by Sassy Studio.
They have graciously provided four digis to the winner of this week's challenge.  How awesome!

For this week's challenge, your project should be inspired by a film, book, song, or hero.  Everyone on Team A was given a Sassy Studio image to work with.  My image was "Little Red Riding Hood," but after looking at the image for a while, I decided it looked more like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.

I colored my image with Crayola colored pencils in erasable black, red, tan, peach, brown, blue, erasable sky blue, white, and light brown.  I added Stickles in Candy Cane to her shoes and in Star Dust to her white blouse.  My patterned papers are from DCWV's Nana's Kitchen Stack, and I used the current sketch at Digi Sketch Challenge.  I cut the circle using the EK Success Punch All Over the Page Pinking Circle punch, then I inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Faded Jeans.  The inside and outside sentiments are both from the Around the Block set from Close To My Heart (which I think is no longer available), as are the swirls, and I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Barn Door on the inside.  I used two layers of pop dots to adhere the front sentiment and a single layer on the image.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I'll also be entering this at LiaStampz, where their challenge this week is Anything Goes.

We can't WAIT to see what you come up with this week!  Remember--your project must be inspired by a film, book, song, or hero.  Be sure to link to your blog post (not your entire blog!), and let us know about your inspiration.  You've got until September 29 to get your project linked up at Through the Purple Haze, but remember that the blog is on UK time!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

BIG announcement!

I hope everyone had a great Monday!  As promised, I'm back with my BIG announcement--I'm the newest member of the Design Team at Through the Purple Haze!  I'm on Team A, so my first challenge will be next Monday, September 23.  The new challenge--Bling It Up--was posted today, though, so hop over and check it out!

If you've been wanting to try digi stamps but just aren't sure, I found a link to a FREE (yes, I said FREE!) downloadable ebook about digi stamps.  The name of the book is Getting Started with Digital Stamps and be found here.  There are lots of great tips inside from Kristy Dalman of Some Odd Girl!

I should be back later this week with some new projects!  Have a great week!  Happy scrapping!

Scrapping4fun Challenges--Challenge Two--Card

I hope everyone's had a great week!  I've been in my craft room in the afternoon/evening for several days this week, and I feel like I've really accomplished some things.  It's time for another challenge at Scrapping4fun Challenges!

For Challenge Two, we'd like to see a card with at least two embellishments and a quote, and your card must also relate to the upcoming season.

I used a piece of brown cardstock as my base and folded it to make a 4x6 card.  I embossed my ecru cardstock with the Cuttlebug Autumn embossing folder before adhering it to my card base.  The images and sentiment are all from There She Goes Clear Stamps' Bountiful Blessings set, and I used Ranger Archival Ink in coffee to stamp them and to ink the edges of the torn paper.  I've had this stamp set for a little while, but I hadn't had the chance to use it until now.  I'm really happy with the way it turned out, though!

We can't wait to see what you can create!  You've got two weeks to get your card uploaded to the Scrapping4fun Challenges blog, which means the deadline is Thursday, 26 September (my oldest son's birthday!).  Be sure to stop back by on Monday for a BIG announcement!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Whimsical Twist Chalkboard Challenge

My sweet friend Sandi Pressley is on the DT at Whimsical Twist, and she posted about their Chalkboard Challenge last week.  It took me a while to find what I KNEW I had to participate, but luckily I ran across my blackboard album (which Sandi sent me!) and got to work!

I don't think I'm COMPLETELY finished with this, but it's finished enough to share.  I know there are some pages that I want to add a few more things to, like some embellies, but I've got to dig through my stash to find them.  This is Cosmo Cricket's Happy's Blackboard Album, which I believe is no longer available (I couldn't find it on their site).

Obviously, this is a gift for my husband!  Our dating anniversary is coming up in December, so I think I'm going to hold it until then.  I'm always at a loss as to what to get him!  Here's my supply list and links to products, if they're still available:  Cosmo Cricket Happy's Blackboard Album, Personalized by You Jeweled I Love You stickers, colored pencils, Gelly Roll white pen, Me & My Big Ideas Soft Spoken Embellishments--Walter-Husband, Jolee's Boutique No 1 Dad stickers, EK Success Dallas Cowboys stickers, Making Memories word fetti travel, Bo Bunny Cardstock Stickers Smitten, Little Yellow Bicycle Dimensional Stickers Sweet Love, Me & My Big Ideas Soft Spoken Embellishments Love of My Life, Me & My Big Ideas Mambi Minis Crazy Alphabet, sei Rub-on words Bridgeport.

I hope you've all had the chance to craft this week!  I've been in my craft room just about every day this week, and I've got one more project to make before Friday.  I'll be back on Friday with a new DT post for Scrapbooking4fun Challenges and then again on Monday with a BIG announcement!  Until then, happy scrapping!
