Paper Cutz Challenge #111--Shake, Rattle, and Roll

IT'S FRIDAY!!!!!  WOOHOO!!!!!  I LOVE Fridays, but I especially love THIS Friday!  I'm flying to Arkansas today to spend the weekend with my oldest son and my parents for a late birthday celebration for my son and my dad.  Before I leave, though, it's time for a new challenge at the Paper Cutz Challenge!

This week, the title of our challenge is "Shake, Rattle, and Roll," and we're asking you to create a project with a hand stamped, digital stamped, or Cricut cut image of a skeleton or a skull and crossbones, but we want it to be cute--NOT SPOOKY!!  I used a play on words from the phrase "Trick or Treat" to create my card:

The skull and crossbones on the front and treasure chest on the inside are both from a stamp set I found in my stash.  I COMPLETELY forgot I had it!!  I stamped the skull and crossbones twice and used pop dots to add some dimension to it.  The treasure map island came from a piece of patterned paper I ALSO found in my stash, and I cut out what I wanted to use, adhered it to cardstock, and then used pop dots (AGAIN!) to make it stand off the page.  The brads were ones I found in my stash, and I accented the skull cap, treasure chest, and the word "Treasure" with my Stickles.

What can YOU create with a skeleton or skull and crossbones??  We'd LOVE to see it!!  Be sure you get your project linked up at the Paper Cutz Challenge by Thursday, October 6.  Happy scrapping!

My Partner in Crafting Crime Challenge #32--Sweets and Treats!

Happy Monday, everyone, and happy birthday to my oldest son, Kennedy!  He turns the big 1-2 today, and I'll be traveling to Arkansas this weekend to celebrate with him.  I don't remember if I mentioned it or not, but I was recently asked to be part of the Design Team at My Partner in Crafting Crime!  I'm really looking forward to working with everyone on the DT there.  Here's my project for the Sweets and Treats challenge:

I really liked the background paper when I found it in my stash, so I knew it was perfect for this challenge.  The sucker is actually a sticker I found in my stash, as is the sentiment.  I thought adding ribbon in a little bit of a diagonal would give the card a different look.

SO!  Here's our challenge for you--since Halloween is just around the corner, anything yummy or edible making a debut on your papers, images, embellishments, etc., will be perfect for this one!  If you haven't checked out the challenge blog to see the projects from the rest of the DT, you can find them here.  Be sure to get your projects linked up to the challenge blog by October 9.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Lia Stampz Challenge #4--Sketch

OMG!  I cannot BELIEVE I forgot to post about the latest challenge at LiaStampz!!  This is our fourth challenge, and we're asking you to follow this sketch:

I used one of the new images, Tisha, and some of the new sentiments to create my card.  I thought this image was PERFECT for a Halloween card:

We'd LOVE to see your interpretation of this sketch!  You can flip it or rotate it any way you wish, as long as we can still see the sketch in your project.  You can find out all the details on the LiaStampz blog.  You've got until October 15 to get your project linked up on the blog.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Paper Cutz Challenge #110--Button Up for Fall

If you're here for my blog candy that ends September 30, please click here!

**********************************************************

It's time for another Paper Cutz Challenge!  Since it's now OFFICIALLY the fall season, we'd like to see your Fall cards, LOs, or projects using lots of BUTTONS and any colors you like.  Here's what I came up with:

I found the sketch for my card in the Close To My Heart book Cherish, which I picked up at the customer garage sale at my LSS last weekend.  The ribbons and buttons were all in my stash, and the digi image and sentiment are both from LiaStampz.  The image, Asha with Friends, is one of my FAVORITES from LiaStampz!  I think it's just so funny!

Challenges entered:  4 Crafty Chicks, Crafty Purple Frog, Crafty Ribbons Challenge

We'd LOVE to see what you can create with autumn colors and buttons!  Be sure to get your project linked up at the Paper Cutz Challenge before next Thursday evening.  Happy scrapping!

NettieG's new challenge--ANYTHING GOES (with a BONUS!)!!

Happy Monday, everyone!  It's time for another challenge at NettieG's Digital Gems Challenge!  The image I chose to work with this week is Mr. Ian Inchworm:

Once I saw this image, I thought it would be PERFECT for a school-related card!  The ribbon was from my stash, as were the papers I used.  The pencil sentiment across the top is a stamp (Sorry, but I don't remember who makes it!), and I used RoseArt and Crayola colored pencils for the coloring.  Mr. Ian Inchworm was colored with Fibracolor markers.

And now . . . on to the new challenge . . .

ANYTHING GOES . . . BUT with a BONUS!  We'd like you to create ANY papercraft project for one entry into the random winner's draw.  Here's the BONUS:  if you use a NettieG's image, you get three, not two, yes THREE entries into the random winner's draw!  That's THREE chances per creation with a NettieG's image!  Don't have a NettieG's image?  Visit the NettieGs Digital Gems and Handmades store to pick one up!  We can't WAIT to see what you create!  You've got two weeks to get your creation linked up here.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Paper Cutz Challenge #109--Caution! Ghost Crossing!

If you're here for my giveaway that ends September 30, please click here!

********************************************************

Today is my first challenge as part of the Paper Cutz Challenge Design Team, and we've got a great one for you!  This week's theme is "Caution!  Ghost Crossing!" and we want to see your ghostly projects with Cricut cuts, traditional stamps, or digital stamps using the colors of white, black, purple, and orange ONLY.  Since I've recently REALLY gotten into card making, I decided to make an easel card for this challenge.

I found my directions for making the easel card here at Split Coast Stampers.  I thought it was SUPER easy!  I'll also be entering this in the This to That Tuesday Challenge #5 at Cher's Studio.  As I was looking through my stamps, I discovered I didn't have ANY ghost stamps!  I turned to my Cricut cartridges and very quickly learned that amidst all the cartridges I have, not a SINGLE ONE had a ghost image on it!!!  As a result, I had to improvise.  I DID find a ghost 3-D sticker in my stash, so I turned it upside down and traced the shape on white cardstock.  I cut the first one out and, using it as a template, traced and cut out two more.

I used my black Fibracolor marker to color the ghost's eyes and ColorBox Cat's Eye ink in Blackbird to distress the edges of the ghost.  Once I had the top layer finished, I used mini pop dots to add some dimension to the ghost.

All of the papers came from my Halloween paper stash, as did the ribbons and stickers.  As I was finishing up, I thought Mr. Ghost needed something a little extra, so I found a pumpkin bucket sticker and a couple of purple candy stickers.  I wanted to give the appearance of a piece of candy coming out of the bucket, so I used my craft knife to cut a small slit in the top of the bucket and slide a portion of the piece of candy through.

I used this sketch from The Sweetest Thing:

I'll be entering my card there, as well as at The Paper Variety, where their challenge is to use stickers.

We'd love to see what ghostly projects you can come up with!  Be sure to link up your project by next Thursday at Paper Cutz Challenge!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

**********************************************************

This week, I have the honor of being a Guest Designer at The Crazy Challenge!  The sponsor this week is Crafty Sentiments Designs, and they were nice enough to provide me with an image for my card.

I've never used a fairy image, but I really like this one!  I colored her using RoseArt and Crayola colored pencils, then added some glitter on her wings.  The pink ribbon down the left side was from my stash, and the border punch was one I received in a recent border punch swap in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin'.

I found the sketch idea for the card at the Clean & Simple Sunday Challenge (I turned it sideways.) and will be entering over there:

I got my color inspiration from the current challenge at CR84FN Color Challenge.  Here's their inspiration for this week:

I'm also entering this card at The Paper Variety as part of their blogaversary celebration!  They're having several different challenges during their celebration, so this one will qualify for the stamp challenge.

Thanks again to the ladies at The Crazy Challenge for allowing me to join them as Guest Designer this week!  I hope you'll jump over there and play along!  Happy scrapping!

My friend Suzanne over at Scrap With Suzy recently turned me on to a new challenge blog where she's on the Design Team.  The team is The Digi Bistro, and the challenge blog is Cher's Studio.  I won second prize over there a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I'd try again!  The challenge this week is to create a tag with a Halloween theme in any size with cutting files, stamps, or embellishments of your choice.  Here's mine:

I embossed the purple cardstock with my D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder before adding the embellishments and adhering it to the orange.  The sentiment and skulls are rub-ons, and the embellishments are from Jolee's Boutique.  The ribbon was in my stash.  Thanks for looking, and happy scrapping!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  I feel so privileged as the wife of a United States Marine to be honored with being the Guest Designer at Birthday Sundaes this week (You can see my spotlight here.), a day (and week, for many) that we will honor and remember everyone who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.  This week's challenge is to create a criss cross birthday card, so here you go!

I'd never made one before, but once I read through the instructions, it was SUPER easy!  You can find a tutorial here.  I used red, blue, and yellow cardstocks for my bases, and everything else is from Bo Bunny's It's My Party collection.  My oldest son, Kennedy, has a birthday coming up, so I think I will use this for one of his birthday cards.  Be sure to get over to Birthday Sundaes and check out the rest of the Design Team's creations!  They're WONDERFUL!!  Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog and my creation!  Happy scrapping!

Nettie G's new challenge and DT announcement!!

Happy Labor Day!!  I hope everyone (in America at least!) is enjoying a three-day weekend, whatever you may be doing.  To start with today, I have an announcement to make--I'M ONE OF THE NEW MEMBERS OF THE DESIGN TEAM AT NETTIE G'S!  I'm REALLY excited to work with everyone over there, and I hope you'll join us for the challenges!

This week's challenge is a color inspiration challenge:

I LOVE these colors together!  The image I chose for my card is from NettieG.  Here's my creation:

When I saw this image, I knew I HAD to have it!!!  I found the sketch at Card Positioning Systems, and I'll be entering this card in their weekly challenge as well.  I used my Fibracolor markers to color the image, then I added some glitter to the window panes for the snow effect.  My silver embellishment is the brad that I added to the center of the ribbon.  My sentiment says "Season's Greetings," although it's a little hard to see.

We'd LOVE to see what you can come up with using these three colors!  You can create a layout, card, project, ANYTHING!!!  You've got two weeks to get your project finished and linked up to the challenge blog at NettieG's Digital Gems Challenge Blog.  Get busy, and happy scrapping!
