Purple!

One of the June Monthly Card Challenges at Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' this month was purple.  This was a little bit of a stretch for me, as I don't normally scrap cards with a lot of purple, but it all worked out.  We're allowed to do each card challenge twice, so these are the two cards I came up with for the Purple challenge:

I embossed the bottom 3/4 of the light purple cardstock with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and adhered the ribbon from my stash across the upper edge of the embossing.  Luckily, I was able to find light and dark purple brads in my stash to go along with the light and dark purple flowers I found in my stash!  Adding a couple of purple rhinestones and a sentiment from Close To My Heart gave the card the finishing touches.

Challenges Entered:
Paper Crafting Journey--Last Challenge:  Flower Power
Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' June Monthly Card Challenge--Purple

After embossing the dark purple cardstock with the D'vine Swirls Cuttlebug folder, I also embossed the light purple cardstock with the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.  The image was a wood stamp I found in my stash, and I used a random purple ink on the image and also to ink the edges of the skunk's little tuft of fur in the center of his head.  The skunk is from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge and was one I received in a Cricut cut swap in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' that we did a while back.

Challenges Entered:
Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge #183--Embossing:  Heat or dry
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #217--Anything Goes

I hope everyone had a great Monday!  I'll be back with more creations tomorrow, so be sure to stop back by.  Have a great week!

Christmas Lodge

Happy Monday, everyone!  I mentioned last week in one of my posts that I was hoping to be entering more challenges, so that's what I'm here to do!  I know it's still early for Christmas, but it's never too early to make Christmas cards!

The layered papers are from the SN@P! Color Vibe collection.  I used is the Christmas Lodge stamp set from Stampin' Up, which is one of my favorites.  After using my Sizzix Framelit set and stamping the image with StazOn Jet Black ink, I added some Star Dust Stickles to the image to simulate snow on the ground and the house.  A simple piece of Christmas ribbon added from my stash, and it's finished!

Challenges Entered:
Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' 52 Week Card Challenge
Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' June Monthly Card Challenge--Long Card
Robyn's Fetish Challenge #218--Stripes or Dots
Art by Miran Challenge #9--Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp--Anything Goes

I hope everyone has a great week!  Happy scrapping, everyone!

Owl Tag for Linnie Blooms

Hi, everyone!  Today I'm here with a Design Team project for Linnie Blooms.  I decided to make a cute owl tag using Linnie Blooms' Flutter Stencil and Mask set.

The tags were in my stash, and I thought it needed just a little something extra.  I used the branch and owl stencils with my Pebbles Inc. Chalking Set, then I added a couple of (what I call) googly eyes and a small purple nose with my ZIG Writer in Pure Violet.  The back of the tag is blank, so it can be used for any type of gift tag.

Summertime, Summertime, Sum-, Sum-, Summertime!

Happy Hump Day!  I hope you're all having a great week and are getting to enjoy some fun things this summer.  Here in Arkansas, we've had rain EVERY SINGLE DAY for the past few weeks.  I don't remember a summer like this, and I grew up in Arkansas!  We need a few days WITHOUT rain so everything can dry out, and the kids can get outside to play some.

The Design Team's Challenge this month is to show what we love to do in the summer by using Linnie Blooms' canvas, stencils, and/or masks.  In my family, we LOVE to sit outside and grill while the kids play in the yard, so I created this fun outdoor grillin' card:

First, I painted the canvas sun with watercolors, using yellow around the edges and a combination of red, orange, and yellow in the center.  While that dried, I painted the bottom of my cardstock with green watercolor for hills and the top with a combination of blue, red, orange, yellow, and purple watercolor trying to simulate a sunset.  Using some stamps I found in my stash, I then created the scene with the grill, deck chair and umbrella, and tub of beer & wine.  I used a couple sentiments to finish off the scene, then I adhered the sun with Liquid Stitch fabric adhesive.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!

Here are the supplies I used:

Thanks for stopping by to check out my project!  Be sure to hop over to the Linnie Blooms shop to pick up your own canvas pieces and try your hand at creating a project showing what YOU love to do in the summertime.  Have a great rest of your week, and be sure to come back to see what the rest of the Design Team has in store!

Dadisms

Happy Hump Day, everyone!  Ashley here with a new project for the Linnie Blooms Design Team!  I don't think I've ever used burlap on a project before, so I thought I'd try some out on a Father's Day card for my dad.

The only place I adhered the burlap to my cardstock was with the three brads in the top corner.  I actually really like the look of leaving it loose the rest of the way around.

Supplies Used
Cardstock--stash
Glitter brads--stash
Burlap--Linnie Blooms
Sizzix Framelits Fancy Labels Die Set
Ranger Archival Ink--coffee
There She Goes Clear Stamps Dadisms (no longer available)
