Stick It Down 5th Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (for those of you who celebrate) and that you're all ready for 2015.  It's time for the 5th Tuesday challenge at Stick It Down.  New members of the Design Team could participate if we chose (which I did, of course!), even though our term doesn't officially start until January 1.

We could use any sketch from Stick It Down, so I chose this card sketch from the Card Sketches page:

Here's the card I created:

Challenges Entered
CASology Week 127--Light
The Outlawz Challenges--Progressive Freebie Challenge (December)
Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' 52 Week Card Challenge--Week 52

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to head over to the Stick It Down challenge blog to check out some of the sketches and enter the 5th Tuesday Challenge.  You can choose any sketch from the archives, and you have until Monday, 5 January, to get your created added to the Inlinkz.  Can't wait to see what you create and what sketches you use!  Happy scrapping!

Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons Guest Designer

Happy Friday, everyone!  If you celebrate Christmas, I hope you had a wonderful day yesterday!  I'm here today as the Guest Designer at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons, and I have two projects to share with you.

My first project is a Happy New Year card, which I'm also entering as my Week 51 card entry into Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's 52 Week Card Challenge:

I used two separate PPPR cutting files for this project:

New Year Title Cutting Files
Champagne Cutting Files

I don't own a Silhouette, Cameo, SCAL, or any cutting program, so I printed these in PDF format onto cardstock before putting the image of the champagne glasses together.  I chose to use a piece of kraft cardstock as my base and grabbed a piece of glittery ribbon from my stash to adhere close to the edge.  Some Stickles and Recollections faux pearls (to serve as champagne bubbles!) finished it off before adhering to my card base.

Supplies used for this project:

My second project is from the champagne cutting file:

I was having trouble with my printer (and it not wanting to print on cardstock!), so I printed the file on printer paper, cut out some of the sections for the bottle (as others DID print on cardstock!), then adhered them to cardstock.  I used four different colors of Stickles to jazz this champagne bottle up a little for the New Year!

Supplies used for this project:

This is something that could be used as a gift tag on a present or a bottle of your favorite spirit, and you could easily add the numbers for the new year onto the "label" of the champagne bottle.

Thanks so much to Lisa and Shannon for inviting me to be a Guest Designer and for providing me with a gift certificate to the PPPR shop!  It's been so much fun!!!  Be sure to hop over and check out their goodies!

Blue & Silver Christmas

I needed to make another Christmas card, so I thought I would try something simple.

I took the embossed piece of card stock (which I received in an embossing swap a while back) and adhered a piece of white satin ribbon across the bottom before adhering it to my card base.  I added a wood veneer snowflake (from my stash) and put a small rhinestone in the center.  I thought it still needed a little more bling, so I grabbed my silver Stickles and added some shine to some of the snowflakes.

Challenges Entered
Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' 52 Week Challenge--Week #49

I hope you're all just about ready for Christmas!  I have a LOT of things left to do, so I guess I'd better get hopping!  Happy scrapping, everyone!

The project I have to share with you today is a calendar I make for my husband (and oldest son!) every year for Christmas.  The pictures I'm sharing with you are of my husband's 2008 calendar, as he sometimes reads my blog, and I don't want him to see his present before it's Christmas! ;-)

I'd planned to share his 2014 calendar with you but realized too late that I only had photos of the layouts and not the calendar pages.  The past couple of years I've embellished the calendar pages a little more than these were, and I also now use my Bind-It-All to bind the calendar instead of just using rings.  As you can see, I use the same patterned paper for the top and bottom of each month, and the bottom page is covered with a vellum page containing the monthly grid, which has been hand-traced from a template I got MANY years ago in a calendar class I took.  I adhere the vellum page to the patterned paper using vellum adhesive, and I adhere the bottom calendar page to the top page of the next month.

This is a gift I started giving my husband in 2006, and I think I've only missed two years since then.  My oldest son loved my husband's so much that he asked for one, so now I have to make two every year--one for each of them.  My youngest son will be six in January, and I'm sure he'll be asking for one very soon, too!

Up next is Miranda!

Here is our complete line up in case you get lost along the way:
We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!

12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop--Day 12

Welcome to Day 12 of the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!  You should have gotten here from Lori's blog.  If you just happened upon my post, head over to Lisa's blog to get started and see everyone's great projects!  This hop will take place November 24 through December 5, and the new postings each day will be posted by 8 am Eastern standard time.  This hop will be full of wonderful ideas and inspiration to get you well on your way of creating all of those beautiful Christmas projects!  This is an awesome way to get a lot of your Christmas cards and scrapbook layouts finished, home decorations completed, and maybe even be inspired to create something using a new technique that you have never tried.  There will be a new project posted each and every day by all the wonderful amazing ladies in this hop, and we will also have a guest designer or two for you to visit each day.

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

For this card, I ran a piece of green card stock through my Cuttlebug using the D'vine Swirls embossing folder.  On my piece of red card stock, I used a border punch on all four sides, then adhered it to the back of my patterned paper so just the edges of the punch were sticking out.  On the patterned paper, I outlined the word "Joy" in gold Stickles, then topped it all off with a ribbon.

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

I think this is another of my favorite cards from this year!  The Santa image in the center is from Graphic 45, and I simply added some Stickles around the edges for a little something extra.  I distressed the music paper with my ink pad before adhering it to my card base, then I added a bow for the finishing touch.

Another fairly simple card for you today!  The stocking garland stamp is part of my wooden stamp stash.  I had to stamp it twice for it to reach all the way across!  I colored the stockings with my colored pencils, then added Star Dust Stickles for a little sparkle, as well as a couple of rhinestones on the garland.  A sentiment at the bottom before layering it on dark green card stock then adding it to the base finishes it off!

Stick It Down Design Team!!!

Happy Hump Day!!!  Today I am pleased to announce that I was chosen to be part of the Card Design Team at Stick It Down!

My friend Sandi at Slightly Off Center is leaving the card team (as her term is up), so I sort-of feel like I'm taking her place.  Sandi's cards are BEAUTIFUL, and I hope mine will be just as good.  The DT's term officially begins in January, but I'll be joining the last challenge of this year on December 30.  Be sure to stop back by then to see my first card!

So happy to be part of the card team at Stick It Down!!!  Happy scrapping, everyone!!!

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

I think this was one of the first times I'd ever used watercolors on a card, but I like the way it turned out.  The present is a wooden stamp that I stamped on a piece of card stock using my Versamark pad before heat embossing it in gold.  Once the paint dried and I'd adhered the present, I added my sentiment.

Here's the entire hop lineup for Day 9 in case you get lost:

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

This card took me a little while to get it just the way I wanted it.  I used green card stock as the base of my card and traced the Christmas tree shape onto a piece of kraft card stock.  After cutting out the shape, I adhered the ruffled ribbon onto the back of the cut out.  I flipped it over, added a star to the top of the tree, stamped a sentiment at the bottom, then adhered it to my card base.  The hardest part was putting the ribbon on and getting the look just right.

I really like Snoopy, and I found this wooden stamp in my stash.  I'd almost forgotten about it!  I used kraft card stock for my base, stamped the image onto white card stock, then colored it with my Fibracolor markers.  I added Star Dust Stickles at the bottom of the dog house to simulate snow, before adding my sentiment.
