THE ROBYN'S FETISH CHALLENGE #304--"STITCHING REAL OR FAUX"--21 FEBRUARY 2016

Thanks for all the lovely projects that were submitted for our "Anything But a Card" theme at The Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog last week!  They were beautiful!!!  Our new challenge at The Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog is to include stitching--real or faux--on your project.  Our sponsor this week is Cute as a Button Stamps and Design, and the prize is two single digital stamps of the winner's choice from the Cute as a Button Stamps and Design store.

The Design Team members were provided with an image from the Cute as a Button Stamps and Design store for our projects.  I chose "Sew Cute" and made a criss-cross card this week.

I didn't like the way the image was going to look on the front, and it would have been covered up by the band, so I decided to put it at the top of the insert card and use it as the pull tab, so to speak.

Supplies Used
~Colored pencils in blue, bubble gum, gold, lemon yellow, light brown, magenta, peach, red, slate, teal, and turquoise
~Corner rounder
~Cute as a Button Stamps and Design "Sew Cute" digital image

Notre Dame de Paris

I am FINALLY back on the LOAD bandwagon!  Today's prompt was colors, and the inspiration was the Australian flag, which is red, white, and blue.  I decided to focus on blue, as I found the background paper in my travel destinations papers last week.

I used the February Sketchy Saturday sketch from Paper Issues and completely flipped it, since I wanted to use the printed words on the paper as my title.

I'm really enjoying going back and scrapping photos from my Europe trips.  It's so much fun to reminisce!

Baklava

I'm late again!  This layout was created for the LOAD Challenge for Day 7, but it did make it into that challenge on time.

The prompt for Day 7 was food, and it was suggested to find a photo that supports the story, especially if you don't have a photo of the exact moment.  I couldn't find a photo of the best baklava I've ever had, but I did have this photo.  My journaling explains:

I used the Team A Week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy, which I rotated

and will be entering my layout there.

and will be entering my layout there.

I really LOVE this pirate digi!  Since I couldn't make a card this week, I decided to focus on a photo we had taken several years ago in Orlando when we took our oldest son to the Pirate's Dinner Adventure.  He really enjoyed it, and it's a neat experience if you've never been.

Lucerne

My intent was to post my layouts for the LOAD 2016 challenge as I got them finished, so I have to apologize that I'm a couple of days late with this one!  The prompt for Day 3 was music.  My first thought IMMEDIATELY went to photos I had of a Jesuit church I visited in Lucerne, Switzerland.  I found this sketch at Let's Scrap:

and flipped the left side of the sketch to fit one of the monthly challenges in the Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' Yahoo group.

This church is so much more beautiful than the pictures show!  I absolutely love the colors inside; I only wish I could have heard music coming out of the organ.

World Travellers

Welcome back for LOAD2!  Today's prompt dealt with transportation, specifically planes.  I chose to use a picture of the student group I took to Europe in 2005.  This was the last group photo taken of us before we left Europe, as we wanted a group photo with our tour guide, so this was taken at the airport in Munich, Germany.

I used the sketch from the February Sketch Challenge in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin'.

I had such a great time on this trip (Well, except for the trip to the emergency room in Paris.)!  It was wonderful to be able to travel with this wonderful group of young women and give them the opportunity to experience other countries and cultures they may never be able to see again.
