Tea Time

One of my absolute favorite things to do every time we go on a cruise is go to Tea Time!  They always have different flavored hot teas available (but you can have something else to drink if you'd like), and they make the most amazing pastries, little sandwiches, and other food.  Oh my goodness!  I always try to sample everything at least once, but sometimes I just get too full!  LOL!

What better way to remember Tea Time than to make a scrapbook page about it!

The White Coconut Creme flavored tea from Art of Tea is my absolute fave!  We're going on another cruise in May 2024, and I can't wait, because I get to go to Tea Time again!

I used a combination of elements from Carta Bella's Homemade with Love collection and Echo Park's Happiness is Homemade collection on this page.  The two bottom photos are triple matted, and I used Thickers Sparkling glitter letter stickers in Silver for the title.  I'm also entering this page for the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create--September 2023 Anything Goes (They're also having a Design Team Call!)

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Happy scrapping!

Jingle Bells

It's been a LOOOONG time since I entered a creative challenge of ANY kind, but I decided to go ahead and use the sketch at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and enter their August Sketch Challenge.  Here's their August sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch:

The bells are wood pieces I found in my Christmas stash.  Two of the bells look a little dark, but I used Stampin' Up's Shaded Spruce Classic Stamp Pad to color them green, and I used Ranger's Wendy Vecchi Designer Series Archival Ink in Red Geranium on the other one.  The papers are scraps from the Echo Park Here Comes Santa Claus 6x6 Paper Pad and the Teresa Collins Santa's List 6x6 Designer Pad, and I used Recollections foam adhesive circles to pop up the sentiment.

I hope this will give me the challenge-entering bug again, because I really enjoy it when I have time!  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Happy scrapping!

Diamond

In entering challenges, I also decided to get involved at Soul Scrappers again.  For this month, they have a sketch challenge (SC142) using this sketch:

Here's my take on the sketch:

Diamond was our first cat; she just showed up on our carport one day when I was a teenager and eventually wooed her way inside.  She loved to sleep on my bed and always sat at the back door and meowed when she needed to go outside to use the bathroom.  Unfortunately, we found lying her in the neighbors yard one day, and she had passed away. 😢  She was such a wonderful kitty!

Supplies Used
     *Cat Icons
     *Element Sticker
     *Kitty Paws
     *Kitty Plaid
~ZIG Writer in Pure Black

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  Happy scrapping, everyone!  Thanks for stopping by!

Lasting Memories March Challenge

I haven't been in the layout challenge game (on blogs, anyway) for a LOOOOONG time, so I thought I'd jump back in every now and then!  I was on the Design Team at Lasting Memories back in 2011, so I thought I'd start there.  Their first challenge for March was Mix and Match Patterned Paper, so I thought this layout fit the theme perfectly:

Space Shuttle Atlantis

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Thought I would share with you today a layout from our trip to Orlando, Florida during the 2016 Spring Break.  Yes, we did the whole Disney thing, but we also took a day and drove over to Kennedy Space Center.  We hadn't been there in several years, and our youngest had NEVER been, so we knew it was the perfect way to spend a day!

One of the additions since the last time we visited was the Space Shuttle Atlantis display.  It.  Was.  AWESOME!!!!!!  When I saw the January 15 sketch at Stuck?! Sketches, I knew it would be perfect to use with a piece of space paper I'd picked up several years ago.

Here's my take on the sketch:

**********************************************************************

One of my son's friends has a birthday party tomorrow that we can't make it to, so we're sending a present to school on Monday with Joseph for the little boy.  Just another opportunity for me to make a card!  This time, I used Card Sketch #10 at Sketch-N-Scrap:
 And here's my card:

Since I made this card base myself, I didn't have an envelope to go with it, so I pulled out my new WeRMemoryKeepers Envelope Punch Board and made one!  This was the first time I'd used the punch board, and I was surprised at how SUPER easy it was to make an envie.  I will DEFINITELY be using this again!

Supplies used:
~Echo Park Boys Mini Theme patterned paper
~Echo Park A Boy's Life 6x6 mini pad

Challenges entered:
~Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' Monthly Card Challenge--animal

Scrapping4fun Challenges--Challenge One--Color Combo & Recipe

Welcome to the FIRST challenge for Scrapping4fun Challenges!  The first challenge is a color combo and recipe:
The color combo for Challenge One is dark brown, blue, green, and white.  You should use all six colors in your layout, but any shade of these colors is fine.  Here's the recipe to go along with the color combo:
                     1.  Flowers (store bought or handmade)
                     2.  Mist or ink
                     3.  Title
                     4.  Journaling
                     5.  Any pattern with an emboss folder
                     6.  12x12 layout (single or double)

Here's my layout for Challenge One:
The cardstock underneath my title, flower, & brad are all from my stash.  The background paper, striped strip, arrow sticker, and journal card are all from the Echo Park Boys Mini Theme collection.
I chose the Cuttlebug Houndstooth embossing folder to use underneath my title,
and the title stickers are Reminisce self-adhesive diecut stickers from The Freedom Collection (from a LOOOOOONG time ago!).  I inked the edges of the patterned paper underneath the photo with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Faded Jeans.
I found this sketch at Sketch N Stash:
I think the sketch was meant to be for a card, but it just seemed to work perfectly for what I wanted.

You can find all the rules for the challenge at Scrapping4fun Challenges.  You have until Saturday, September 14, at 1:00 pm European time to get your creation linked up on the challenge blog.  If you're not sure about the time difference, there's a clock with European time in the upper left corner of the challenge blog.  I hope several of you will enter and get this new challenge blog going!  Can't wait to see what you create!  Happy scrapping, everyone!

CDAC Progressive Challenge 12 and TPV inspiration

As I get ready to head out to Boston for a week, I'm trying to get lots of projects done!  Tonight, I completed the last challenge for the CDAC Progressive Challenge, and it also works for the latest challenge at The Paper Variety.
I LOVE this image from Fred She Said!  I thought the little boy and his pet frog were just SOOO cute!!!  I colored the image with Crayola colored pencils and adhered it to my card with pop dots.  Both background papers on the card are from Echo Park's A Boy's Life, which I won during last weekend's Crop 'til You Drop in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' (Thanks, Theresa!).  The buttons are from my stash, and the sentiment is from The {Stamps} of Life.

The Paper Variety provided a photo for inspiration for this week's challenge:
As you can probably tell, I took quite a bit of inspiration from this photo.  I used the green for the pet frog, shades of blue in the little boy's shirt and in the background paper, and red for his hair.  I just loved them all!  The little boy reminds me of my cousin Kyle when he was little--red hair and all!

Be sure to stop back by later this week to see my newest project for the new challenge at Pattie's Creations AND I'll be in the Shabby Accents Blog Hop on the 27th and 28th with blog candy to give away!!!  Happy scrapping, everyone!

Lasting Memories weekly challenge--Recycle!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time for another challenge from Lasting Memories!  This week, we're asking you to reuse and/or recycle things from your stash.  Here's the layout I came up with:

I used items from my Echo Park Life is Good collection, which I've had for a little while.  I also completed this layout for the 24 Hour Challenge in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin', which we have every month.  I'd been wanting to scrap these pictures for a while, but I just didn't know what papers to use.  when the 24 Hour Challenge came around and my friend Sandi chose this collection for me, it just all fell into place!
What items in your stash do you need to reuse or recycle?  We want to see what you've got!  Be sure to get your layout linked up on the Lasting Memories Layout Challenges page before Saturday night.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Lasting Memories weekly layout challenge--photo inspiration

Hi, everyone!  I hope all of you who are mothers had a great Mother's Day!  Sorry my Lasting Memories post is late this week, but I had a little trouble finding the right inspiration.  For this week's challenge, we're asking you to use the following photo for your inspiration:

Here's what I came up with for this week:

I used Echo Park's Life is Good collection to make this layout, which also satisfies the one layer theme in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's monthly challenge.  This is one of my favorite pictures from the day my youngest son, Joseph, was born.

You've still got one more day to play along!  Hop on over to Lasting Memories and get your layout linked up, then check back with us on Sunday morning to see if you made the Top Three.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!
