Space Shuttle Atlantis

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Thought I would share with you today a layout from our trip to Orlando, Florida during the 2016 Spring Break.  Yes, we did the whole Disney thing, but we also took a day and drove over to Kennedy Space Center.  We hadn't been there in several years, and our youngest had NEVER been, so we knew it was the perfect way to spend a day!

One of the additions since the last time we visited was the Space Shuttle Atlantis display.  It.  Was.  AWESOME!!!!!!  When I saw the January 15 sketch at Stuck?! Sketches, I knew it would be perfect to use with a piece of space paper I'd picked up several years ago.

Here's my take on the sketch:

World Travellers

Welcome back for LOAD2!  Today's prompt dealt with transportation, specifically planes.  I chose to use a picture of the student group I took to Europe in 2005.  This was the last group photo taken of us before we left Europe, as we wanted a group photo with our tour guide, so this was taken at the airport in Munich, Germany.

I used the sketch from the February Sketch Challenge in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin'.

I had such a great time on this trip (Well, except for the trip to the emergency room in Paris.)!  It was wonderful to be able to travel with this wonderful group of young women and give them the opportunity to experience other countries and cultures they may never be able to see again.

The Design Team members were provided with an image for our projects, and my chosen image is "Delivering Presents."

I used the Stick It Down card sketch for December and will be entering this card in their challenge.

Winter's in the Air Blog Hop

Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but these projects are so delightful!

Welcome to the 'Winter's in the Air' blog hop!
We have all made projects to warm your heart, and potentially decorate your home, during these snowy months.  I received the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge from my friend, Vicki, as part of a Secret Santa gift, so I decided to break it out and use it for my card.
I just LOVE this little penguin!  I added Candy Cane Stickles to his scarf, and I outlined the igloo in Star Dust Stickles.  I coated the word "chillin'" with a glue pen and then covered it with a silver Martha Stewart glitter.  The background sky was done with chalks.

If you comment on everyone's post you will be entered to win this from Melanie.  It includes paper, stickers, metal embellies, adhesive, mists, stencils, a journal, and more!  Be sure to check back on Tuesday, January 22, to see who won.
I've got blog candy, too!  In honor of the penguin on my card, I'll be giving away the morepenguins2love stamp set from The {Stamps} of Life.  All you need to do to be entered to win my blog candy is leave a comment below and become a follower of my blog.  If you're already a follower, be sure to let me know.  Thanks for stopping by!

Here's the complete hop lineup, in case you get lost:

Christmas in July!

I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of their holiday weekend!  As some of you know, I am a moderator on the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin', and we just started a new challenge yesterday called Christmas in July.  The goal is to make a Christmas card every day for the entire month so that by the end of the month, we have most of our Christmas cards finished!  At the end of the month, a winner will be chosen at random and will receive a prize from something on her scrappy Wish List.  There may be extra challenges within the month, where we'll be able to gain an extra entry.

Here's my card for Day 1:
I used an ivory card base from Recollections to start.  The maroon background paper was in my stash, as was the ribbon (which I cut and tied into a bow).  The vintage sentiment is from Graphic 45's Christmas Past collection, and I placed a rhinestones from Queen & Co. on the ribbon, the end of Santa's cap, and the top of the house.

For Day 2, we could gain an extra entry by scraplifting someone's card from Day 1.  I chose to scraplift my friend Dawn's card.  Here is her original card from Day 1:
Here's my creation from Day 2:
For this card, I started with a white card base from Recollections and cut a piece of patterned paper to 5" x 4 1/2" (card dimensions).  I punched the corners with my Martha Stewart Loops Punch Around the Page corner punch then adhered a piece of green satin ribbon across the top.  The sentiment is one I received in a group tag swap from Carol, another friend in my Yahoo group, and the rhinestones on the sentiment are from Queen & Co.  The red rhinestones on the green ribbon across the top are adhesive rhinestones from Recollections, and I accented the "string" leading to the sentiment with Star Dust Stickles.

I'll try to post my cards throughout the month, although I probably won't post them every day.  Keep checking back to see my creations, and I hope I provide you with some Christmas inspiration!

Happy Everything!

Happy Everything!  That's the theme for my latest card:

I started with a white blank card base from Recollections.  After using my Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl embossing folder,  I adhered the orange cardstock (from my stash) to the front of the card, then used my Martha Stewart Pinking Circle Punch All Over the Page punch (Thanks, Sandi!) to punch through the embossed cardstock and card base.  I adhered a piece of yellow patterned paper (from my stash) to the inside of the card, so the sweet little birdie would have a background.  The bird is a digital stamp from Pollycraft Designs, and I used my Fibracolor markers to color it and then Recollections adhesive circles to adhere it through the window.  The blue ribbon is from my stash, and the Happy Everything stamp is from Katie & Co and was stamped using imprintz mini pigment ink in blue.  I finished it off by adding a blue rhinestone from Queen & Co. as the dot on the 'i.'

I love that I'm getting to use this card for a couple of different things!  It's being entered at Bling It On as part of their monthly challenge and in consideration for their Design Team and submitted to the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's monthly card challenge.  I hope you've enjoyed seeing my work!  Please come back any time! :-)

New Lasting Memories Challenge!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time again for another Lasting Memories Layout Challenge!  For this week, ANYTHING GOES!!!  The design team was given an digital stamp of our choosing from Tiffany Doodles to use on our layouts this week (Thanks, Tiffany!), so I chose the "Lily Stems with Oval" digi.  Here's my layout for this week:

I used the April GDT Challenge sketch at Sketchy Thursdays for this layout, and I'll also be using entering it in the Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' monthly challenge.  The patterned paper is Gigi Stripe by Glitz Design (double-sided), and the title is Thickers white glitter letter stickers.  I used Martha Stewart's loops border punch on the large polka-dotted paper, and I added some Stickles in Fruit Punch to make the lily on the digital stamp pop out a little.

Now, ON TO THE CHALLENGE!!!  For this week's challenge, YOU'RE THE BOSS!  We want to see your unique style on this week's entry.  Again, our sponsor this week is Tiffany Doodles, and she's offered some GREAT prizes!  Our first prize winner this week will receive 5 digis from Tiffany; second prize wins 3 digis, and third prize wins 2 digis.  How awesome is THAT?!?!?  You have until Saturday, March 12 (MY BIRTHDAY!!!!) @ 9pm EST to link your layout at Lasting Memories.  So get started on those entries!  We can't WAIT to see your style!!!

P.S.  I ALMOST forgot!  Be sure to come back and visit my blog on Saturday, March 12.  I'll be giving away some BLOG CANDY for my birthday!!!!!!

Party Time Tuesdays card details

Here are the details I promised for my PT Tuesdays card!  I found the card design in a card magazine I have (sorry, I don't remember which one) and tweaked it a little to fit what I wanted to do.  I used pink and ecru cardstock; the main sentiment on the front is a digi stamp from Regina at The Cutting Cafe (Thanks, Regina!).  I inked the edges of the oval using a Studio G ink pad in bright pink.  The rub-on at the top of the card is from The Paper Company's Hugs & Kisses Letters collection.  I used the Martha Stewart Loops punch and then put some Stickles in Fruit Punch on top for a little something extra.  I sure hope my husband likes this card!
