Snail birthday

**********************************************************************

One of my son's friends has a birthday party tomorrow that we can't make it to, so we're sending a present to school on Monday with Joseph for the little boy.  Just another opportunity for me to make a card!  This time, I used Card Sketch #10 at Sketch-N-Scrap:
 And here's my card:

Since I made this card base myself, I didn't have an envelope to go with it, so I pulled out my new WeRMemoryKeepers Envelope Punch Board and made one!  This was the first time I'd used the punch board, and I was surprised at how SUPER easy it was to make an envie.  I will DEFINITELY be using this again!

Supplies used:
~Echo Park Boys Mini Theme patterned paper
~Echo Park A Boy's Life 6x6 mini pad

Challenges entered:
~Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' Monthly Card Challenge--animal
~Party Time Tuesdays Anything Goes #139
~Pattie's Creations Animals #76
~Sketch-N-Scrap Card Sketch #10

Happy scrapping!

Happy birthday, Dad!

Happy birthday, Dad!  I know my dad doesn't read my blog (He doesn't do that much on the COMPUTER, for that matter!), but I wanted to wish him happy birthday anyway and share his birthday card.

I found this Super Hero image from KennyK while I was cleaning off my scrap table.  It was already colored, so it was that much easier!  I used this sketch from Seize the Sketch:

Supplies used:
~Super Hero image by KennyK
~Crayola colored pencils
~American Crafts Party Animal stamp set

Challenges entered:
~Crafty Catz--birthday card
~3 Girl JAM--celebration

I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Happy scrapping!

News about Party Time Tuesdays

For my followers who are used to seeing my blog posts about Party Time Tuesdays challenges, you may have noticed there was no post last week.  For some reason, the post I made with my card and details about the challenge didn't show up.  I wanted to go ahead and share my card with everyone, so here's my creation:

Without going into details, I am sorry to say that I am no longer a part of the Party Time Tuesdays Design Team.  I truly enjoyed my time on a card-making design team, as I was able to try new things (like digi stamps!) and to increase my card stash.  I look forward to the time when I can join ANOTHER card design team!  Thanks to all of you who followed me for my cards, and I hope you'll stay with me!  I'm still making cards, and I'm still on the Lasting Memories Design Team!

Party Time Tuesdays challenge--Elegant Birthday

Happy Tuesday!  It's time once again for this week's Party Time Tuesdays challenge!  Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear, and the Design Team was given a variety of images to work with.  We also received some friendship sentiments that we could use if we chose.  We were asked to create an elegant birthday card with our image, so here's my take:

The colors didn't come out exactly right, as what looks blue on the card is actually purple.  I LOVE this image!  My husband helped me out a little with his opinions (Thanks, baby!!!), as I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to put the little striped piece of paper.

This week, we're asking you to create an elegant birthday card of your own!  That's it!  No other stipulations.  Be sure to upload your card to the PTT blog by Monday evening!  Can't wait to see what you create!

It's Party Time!!!

Are you ready for a Party?!?!? It's time for a new challenge at Party Time Tuesdays!!! For this week's challenge, we were asked to use digital images we received from Chi Chi Memories AND a handmade flower to create our card. Here's what I came up with this week:

When I was looking through my HUGE stack of scraps, I came across what I thought was the PERFECT sized piece of blue cardstock. I trimmed some cut pieces off of it and measured it so I could get the halfway point. My piece measured just over 8.5" long, so I scored my cardstock at 4.25" using my Scor-Pal. I had a small edge left over on the right side, so I added a small piece of birthday ribbon I found in my stash. For the orange piece of cardstock, I ran it through my Cuttlebug embossing machine using the Happy Birthday embossing folder. I had to try the handmade flower a couple of times before I got the right size for my card, as the first one I made was WAAAAAY too big!

For this week's challenge, we're asking you to create a card with ANYTHING GOES and a handmade flower! Anything goes means exactly that--any theme, any color, any shape--anything . . . as long as your project has a handmade flower. Pattie Curran from Twosday's Techniques provided the video tutorial on handmade flowers this week; I thought it was SUPER easy! You can see the video here. We can't wait to see what you've got in store for us this week!

Party Time Tuesdays March Madness continues!

Hi, everyone!  My apologies for being late this week on my post for the PTT challenge.  My oldest son, Kennedy, is here for his spring break, AND I've had a HORRIBLE cold!  I'm on the road to recovery, though, and trying to get back in the swing of things!  I haven't gotten my card done for this week's challenge yet, but I DID want to post about it!  (I'll add my card in the next couple of days, just as soon as I get it finished!)

This week's challenge is monochromatic and cut it up!  Lisa from Twosdays Techniques was kind enough to provide us with a video tutorial for the technique, which can be seen here.  We also have a sponsor this week!  One lucky winner will be receiving a $10 USD gift certificate to Stitchy Bear Digital Stamps, who ALSO provided the Design Team with the images for our cards this week!  Thanks!

While you're taking a break from making your monochromatic + cut it up card this week, hop on over to the Party Time Tuesdays Facebook page and meet Patchi!  Patchi is one of the Party Planners at PTT and is being featured on the PTT Facebook page this week.  We're looking forward to seeing what you create for us this week!

Party Time Tuesdays new challenge!

It's Tuesday!!  By now, you should know what that means.  A NEW CHALLENGE FOR PARTY TIME TUESDAYS!!!  For this week's challenge, we made an easel card, followed a sketch for the front design, used a Baby Bud design and flowers from Circle B, AND  incorporated shamrocks.  WHEW!  Here's my take:

The directions for our easel card were provided by Pattie Curran from Twosdays Techniques.  We were also provided a digital image from Baby Bud Designs and flowers from Circle B Enterprises.  The flowers I chose are "Fun Flowers" from Jolee's Boutique by EK Success.  My sentiment is from Close To My Heart's "Flower Pot" set, which I think is now retired, and says "Flowers whisper what words cannot say."

And so, our challenge to you this week is this--create an easel card that follows the sketch and uses shamrocks.  Here's your sketch for this week:

The video tutorial for the easel card can by found on the PTT blog.  I hope you'll join us this week!  Don't forget that we STILL have our March challenge going on!  So get busy, ladies!!!

Party Time Tuesdays new challenge--Chandelier Romance

It's time for another PartyTime Tuesdays challenge!  This week's theme for the challenge is to incorporate a chandelier and make it a "romantic" card--Chandelier Romance.  Here's my take on the theme:
The card is 5 1/2" square, and the base color cardstock is gray.  I then used a 5 3/8" square of black cardstock for the base of the design.  The white is plain white cardstock, and the pink patterned paper is some I had in my stash of scraps.  I was just lucky enough to have a piece I could print on and cut at 5 1/4"!

My chandelier is a digi stamp from Bev of the PT Tuesdays Design Team.  (Thanks, Bev!)  I printed it on my patterned paper, then cut the paper to the size I needed.  Once I had it on my base, I added some pearls to serve as the "lights" and Art Glitter in Black to enhance the chains on the chandelier.

The black and white ribbon was found in my HUGE ribbon stash (I SERIOUSLY need one of those cute little ribbon bags with the little holes in the side!!!), and the "LOVE" stamp in the corner is from Close To My Heart.  (I won it at my friend Heather's CTMH Open House last week!).  I cut the chair from the Sentimentals Cricut cartridge, then used my white gel pen to add the "cushion" and back design.  To finish everything off, I added a black brad on each corner.  Since those stuck through to the inside of the card, I cut a piece of patterned paper 5 3/8" square from a scrap of Teresa Collins's Mr. and Mrs. Love paper that I had in my stash and covered the left side of the inside of the card, which also then covered the backs of the brads.

The inspiration for my card this week came from two places.  First, I saw this picture at my hair stylist's shop last week (Thanks for the AWESOME red hair, Michelle!):
Then, I saw this card on the front of the January/February 2011 issue of Paper Crafts magazine:
So after seeing something with chairs and chandeliers twice this week, I guess it was meant to be that the PT Tuesdays challenge is Chandelier Romance!  I also entered this at the Creative Belli Blog as well as at Creative Craft WorldStampin' for the WeekendStamping Vacation, and Card Makin' Mamas.  It qualified for Stamping Vacation's Home Sweet Home Challenge, too!

I hope you'll play along with us this week!  Check out the blog at Party Time Tuesdays for more info on this week's challenge.  You'll have until 11:59 p.m. MST to submit your entry.  Hope to see your creations there!

Party Time Tuesdays card details

Here are the details I promised for my PT Tuesdays card!  I found the card design in a card magazine I have (sorry, I don't remember which one) and tweaked it a little to fit what I wanted to do.  I used pink and ecru cardstock; the main sentiment on the front is a digi stamp from Regina at The Cutting Cafe (Thanks, Regina!).  I inked the edges of the oval using a Studio G ink pad in bright pink.  The rub-on at the top of the card is from The Paper Company's Hugs & Kisses Letters collection.  I used the Martha Stewart Loops punch and then put some Stickles in Fruit Punch on top for a little something extra.  I sure hope my husband likes this card!

Party Time Tuesdays new challenge!

Hi, everyone!  It's time for the newest challenge from Party Time Tuesdays!  This week, we're asking you to create using Valentines or cupcakes.  Either one is a go!  Here's my take on this week's challenge:

I'll post all the supplies I used later (since I'm doing this in a hurry!), but the large sentiment on the front is a digi stamp from The Cutting Cafe.  Thanks for allowing us to try out digi stamps!  I'd never used them before, but I LOVE what she has to offer!  I also entered this on the blogs at Crazy 4 Challenges and Stamping Vacation.  You can check out the other DT's samples at Party Time Tuesdays.  Come on over and join us this week!  We can't wait to see what you create!
