THE ROBYN'S FETISH CHALLENGE #294--"ADD A CHRISTMAS DIE CUT"--13 DECEMBER 2015

This week's challenge at The Robyn's Fetish Challenge Blog is to add a Christmas die cut to your project.  I'm sure many of you still have projects you need to finish for the holidays or for gifts, so this is the perfect challenge for you to enter!  Our sponsor this week is Anne's Digital Art, and the prize is the winner's choice of four digital stamps from the Anne's Digital Art store.

The Design Team members were provided with an image for our projects, and my chosen image is "Delivering Presents."

I used the Stick It Down card sketch for December and will be entering this card in their challenge.

I've seen this technique several times but have never tried it myself.  Once I got the pieces cut just the way I wanted them, it went together fairly easily!

Stick It Down April reveal

Happy April Fool's Day, everyone!  If someone's played a trick on you today, I hope it was all in fun and that you took it in stride.  My husband and I don't usually play tricks on each other on April Fool's Day, so nothing major to worry about in our house. :-)

It's also time for the April sketch reveals at Stick It Down!  Here is the card sketch for this month:

I rotated the sketch to use it for a horizontal card and decided on a Christmas card.  If you're a regular visitor to my blog, you've probably seen a few Christmas cards lately.  Last year I had Christmas cards made to send out to most of my Christmas list but failed MISERABLY on getting that done, I think mainly because I was going to have to make MORE cards and just didn't find the time.  I have vowed to have MORE than enough Christmas cards made for THIS year, so I'm trying to get a couple done each month.  I thought this sketch lent itself quite well to a Christmas card.

I hope you'll play along with one of our sketches this month!  Remember, you have the entire month to play along at Stick It Down, so be sure to hop over there and link up your project.  We can't WAIT to see what you create with our sketches!  Thanks for stopping by, and happy scrapping!

Sketchy Thursdays 7.28 Sketch Challenge

It's been quite a while since I played along at Sketchy Thursdays.  When I sat down at my crafting desk today, I had three layouts I wanted to complete.  Luckily, I got them all done, thanks to sketches!  One of the sketches I chose to use was the one from Sketchy Thursdays.  Here's the sketch they posted this week:
I decided to use some pictures from my first visit to Boston, Massachusetts, in February of 2010 for this layout, so here's my take:
The background paper is a piece in a Boston scrapbook kit I purchased while in Boston, as is the picture of Fanueil Hall (Did I spell that right?!?).  The other patterned paper and the embellishment on the top left came in an Americana kit I won on some blog candy a few weeks ago (Thanks, Kim!).  The journaling strips and blue border pieces were part of a border punch swap from the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' a few months ago, and they just seemed to fit here.  The letters are chipboard from Heidi Swapp, and I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in barn door to color them.

I'm really happy with the way this layout turned out!  Once I sat down with everything, it all came together very quickly.  I'm going to have to enter the Sketchy Thursdays sketch challenges more often!  TFL, and happy scrapping!
