Through the Purple Haze challenge--Inspired by a film/book/song/hero

Happy Monday, everyone!  I'm so happy to be here with my first challenge as part of Team A of the DT at Through the Purple Haze!  Everyone there has made me feel so welcome already, and I'm looking forward to working with everyone.

This week's challenge is sponsored by Sassy Studio.
They have graciously provided four digis to the winner of this week's challenge.  How awesome!

For this week's challenge, your project should be inspired by a film, book, song, or hero.  Everyone on Team A was given a Sassy Studio image to work with.  My image was "Little Red Riding Hood," but after looking at the image for a while, I decided it looked more like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz.

I colored my image with Crayola colored pencils in erasable black, red, tan, peach, brown, blue, erasable sky blue, white, and light brown.  I added Stickles in Candy Cane to her shoes and in Star Dust to her white blouse.  My patterned papers are from DCWV's Nana's Kitchen Stack, and I used the current sketch at Digi Sketch Challenge.  I cut the circle using the EK Success Punch All Over the Page Pinking Circle punch, then I inked the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Faded Jeans.  The inside and outside sentiments are both from the Around the Block set from Close To My Heart (which I think is no longer available), as are the swirls, and I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Barn Door on the inside.  I used two layers of pop dots to adhere the front sentiment and a single layer on the image.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I'll also be entering this at LiaStampz, where their challenge this week is Anything Goes.

We can't WAIT to see what you come up with this week!  Remember--your project must be inspired by a film, book, song, or hero.  Be sure to link to your blog post (not your entire blog!), and let us know about your inspiration.  You've got until September 29 to get your project linked up at Through the Purple Haze, but remember that the blog is on UK time!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

I love your card!! I just wanted to let you know that I shared a link to your blog on mine and suggested my blog viewers come to your blog! I used the Stamps of Life stamp set on a card today and mentioned you in my blog post as well! I just decided to put a plug in for you on my blog! :) Have a great weekend! I may try the challenge this weekend- it just depends if I can find some inspiration and time to do it!
