The project I have to share with you today is a calendar I make for my husband (and oldest son!) every year for Christmas. The pictures I'm sharing with you are of my husband's 2008 calendar, as he sometimes reads my blog, and I don't want him to see his present before it's Christmas! ;-)

I'd planned to share his 2014 calendar with you but realized too late that I only had photos of the layouts and not the calendar pages. The past couple of years I've embellished the calendar pages a little more than these were, and I also now use my Bind-It-All to bind the calendar instead of just using rings. As you can see, I use the same patterned paper for the top and bottom of each month, and the bottom page is covered with a vellum page containing the monthly grid, which has been hand-traced from a template I got MANY years ago in a calendar class I took. I adhere the vellum page to the patterned paper using vellum adhesive, and I adhere the bottom calendar page to the top page of the next month.
This is a gift I started giving my husband in 2006, and I think I've
only missed two years since then. My oldest son loved my husband's so
much that he asked for one, so now I have to make two every year--one
for each of them. My youngest son will be six in January, and I'm sure
he'll be asking for one very soon, too!
Up next is Miranda!
