Through the Purple Haze Challenge #32--Digital elements

Our newest challenge at Through the Purple Haze should be an easy one--digital elements!  Our sponsors this week are Milk Coffee Stamps and Crafts U Print.

I chose to use the Vintage Girl and coordinating elements from Crafts U Print for my card.

I chose to pop up a few of the elements with pop dots, and I distressed and inked the edges.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I'll be back to edit this post in a few days with challenges I entered my card in.

The prize this week is five digis from Milk Coffee stamps, so be sure to get your project with at least one digital element linked up on the Through the Purple Haze challenge blog before Saturday, 15 March.  We can't WAIT to see what you've got for us this week!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Holiday Cheer

As much as I love snow days from school, I think I'm almost over them this year!  We were out again today (and will be out tomorrow as well!), which makes 12 1/2 days for inclement weather this year.  HOLY COW!!!  I've really enjoyed being able to be upstairs in my craft room, though!  Today, I used this sketch from Scraptastic Club:

I dug through some WAAAAAAAY old picture to find just the right ones and came up with some pictures of my oldest son, Kennedy, from when he was about four years old.

Imagine the Possibilities

One more card for tonight!  I decided to enter the Wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp, which is Anything Goes with Pearls.

I got the part of the card front in a swap a while back, and I took it and made it my own.  I inked the edges of the pink cardstock with purple ink, then I inked the edges of the yellow cardstock with pink.  I chalked in white the embossing on the purple butterflies and also chalked the bottom of the larger butterfly at the top with purple.  Using pop dots, I attached the smaller butterfly to the larger one and added purple rhinestones from Queen & Co.

Thanks for stopping by!  We've still got lots of sleet & snow on the ground here in Arkansas from our winter storm on Sunday, so I'm off school again tomorrow.  Maybe things will start melting soon!  Happy scrapping, everyone!

May luck be your friend

I'm one of the moderators of the Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' Yahoo group, and we have monthly card and layout challenges.  Barbara, the group owner, posts a list of card themes for the challenge; you can complete two cards for each theme, for a total of twelve cards.  My card qualifies for the Anything Goes portion of the monthly challenge, and I used the sketch at Clean and Simple Stamping.
I also used my card for Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's 52 Week Card Challenge (Week 9), where this week's prompt was to make a St. Patrick's Day card.  It happens to go along, too, with the Going Green Photo Inspiration challenge at Savvy Handmade Cards.

Kiss Me Forever

The Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin', of which I'm a moderator of, has monthly card and layout challenges.  We're given six different themes, if you will, and you can create two cards/layouts for each theme for a total of twelve for the month.  Suzanne, who's in charge of the challenge themes, gave us a photo inspiration challenge for one of our March themes.
Our layout could be inspired in any way by this, so I chose the phrase "A Kiss For Luck!" as my inspiration and used Sketch #52 from Sketch-N-Scrap.
I rotated the sketch, because it fit my pictures better.
Everything on my layout is from the Echo Park Life is Good collection, which I've had for a LONG time and have used over and over.

Through the Purple Haze Challenge #31--Use a Digi

Happy Monday!  I hope you're inside where it's nice and warm!  We got a couple of inches of sleet yesterday, then a couple of inches of snow on top of that.  We're out of school today and will probably be out a few more days this week as well until the roads clear up enough that the school buses can at least run their snow routes.

Our challenge at Through the Purple Haze this week is to use a digital image on your creation.  The Design Team is sponsored by KennyK, and we were all given images to use.  They are also providing three images from the KennyK store to the winner of this week's challenge!

My image was Velocitia.  I struggled a little with this one, as I've never worked with a steampunk image before.  Here's what I came up with:

Supplies Used
~Barbara Trombley's Art Glitter Angel Dust
~Fibracolor markers
~Close To My Heart Exclusive Inks Grey Wool marker
~ShinHanart Touch markers--BR99, BR102, BR95
~Crayola colored pencil--peach
~ZIG Writer--Pure Red, Pure Blue
~Black zig zag ribbon from stash
~Recollections red adhesive rhinestones
