Through the Purple Haze Challenge #42--Inspiration Song

Just a quick post for the new challenge at Through the Purple Haze!  There's an inspiration song we'd like you to use for this challenge, and it can be found on the TTPH Challenge Blog.  The DT received digis from the Scrapper's Delights Store for use on our projects.

Even though I don't have any little girls in my house (all boys!), I still LOVE pinks & purples.

Be sure to get your project linked up at TTPH for a great prize!  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Linnie Blooms Butterfly Congratulations

Happy Friday!  I always look forward to Fridays, because I know I'll get to spend more time with my family on the weekend AND I get to sleep late on Saturday!  WOOHOO!!!

Today I have a butterfly congratulations card for you:

Using the butterfly stencil from Linnie Blooms, I grabbed my Pebbles Inc. Chalking Set for my colors.  I used the darkest blue I had, then I added a little black around the edges and finished the top butterfly off with some black rhinestones from my stash.  On the bottom, I (obviously!) used the lighter pink for the majority of the butterfly, darker pink for the edges, then light pink rhinestones for the center.

The ribbon came from my stash.  First, I adhered a single piece of ribbon around the front of the card base.  Then using my bow maker from 3 Girl Jam, I made a small bow and affixed it to the top of the ribbon with a ZOTS clear adhesive dot.  The sentiment is from the We R Memory Keepers banner set.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  I'd love it if you also checked out the Linnie Blooms blog.  Happy scrappin', everyone!

Linnie Blooms Stenciled Bird Tag

Guess what day it is?  Wait for it . . . wait for it . . . HUMP DAY!!!  I hope everyone's having a great week!  Today I've got a cute little stenciled bird tag to show you.

I found this tag in my stash and thought it might be perfect to do something with.  It was part of a six-piece set of gift tags that I think I got as part of a prize package at some point in the past few months.  I went through my Linnie Blooms goodies and came across the bird stencil, then I saw my Pebbles Inc. Chalking Set, and voila!  A beautiful tag was born!

First, I traced the stencil onto the tag using my Pure Violet ZIG Writer.  Using my darkest color of purple chalk, I chalked inside the stencil (while still holding the stencil in place) and added a purple rhinestone for the bird's eye.  I used a lighter shade of purple chalk on the canvas piece that serves as the bird's wing, and I used my Big Bite II to punch the hole and found a shiny purple brad in my stash to hold the wing on.  I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by!  You can also find this on the Linnie Blooms blog.  I'll be back on Friday with another design project for you!  In the meantime, get your craft on, and happy scrappin'!

Through the Purple Haze Challenge#40--Anything but Square

******Please scroll down for the newest Linnie Blooms Design Team challenge post.******

*********************************************************************

Happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone!  I don't know about you, but we'll be having tacos and margaritas at my house for dinner tonight to celebrate!  LOL!

It's time for the newest challenge at Through the Purple Haze--Anything but Square!  Design Team sponsors for this challenge are Crafty Sentiments Designs and Hannah Lynn.

My image was Tin Girl provided by Hannah Lynn, so I decided to use a heart-shaped card.

I used Crayola colored pencils to color my image, then I added Queen & Co. Formal Rhinestone Trios to her hat.  Candy Cane Stickles were used on the red heart, Zing Embossing Powder in Silver was used on her outfit, and I inked the edges of the pink heart with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Barn Door.  The shaped card was cut from the Cricut Wild Card cartridge.  The sentiment was from my Studio G Clear Stamps.

We're excited to see what you can come up with for this week's challenge!  Remember--it's Anything but Square, and you need to link up on the Through the Purple Haze challenge blog.  This week's prize is three digis from Crafty Sentiments and three images from Hannah Lynn.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Linnie Blooms May Challenge--Flowers!

Happy Cinco de Mayo, everyone!  I can't believe it's May already!  Hopefully this month will be a little calmer than April, with all the storms at the end of the month.  Please continue to keep the residents of Mayflower and Vilonia, Arkansas, in your thoughts and prayers (along with other communities) as they rebuild after the devastating tornadoes.

I'm here today with my first Design Team post for Linnie Blooms!  The challenge for the Design Team this month is to show what we can do with Linnie Blooms flowers.  I decided to use one of the smaller flowers I received to make a Mother's Day card for my mother-in-law.

I've never worked with canvas ANYTHING before, so it was definitely a challenge!  Check out the mess I made while trying to work with the glue I decided on:

Oh, mercy!  It took a while to finally clean this up, and my flower was at one point completely BURIED beneath this glob of white glue!  LOL!

I thought I'd try something different this time for my supplies.  Instead of making a list, I took a pictures:

I really enjoyed working with my products from Linnie Blooms, and I can't WAIT to work with them more!  Thanks for stopping by!
