Stick It Down April reveal

Happy April Fool's Day, everyone!  If someone's played a trick on you today, I hope it was all in fun and that you took it in stride.  My husband and I don't usually play tricks on each other on April Fool's Day, so nothing major to worry about in our house. :-)

It's also time for the April sketch reveals at Stick It Down!  Here is the card sketch for this month:

I rotated the sketch to use it for a horizontal card and decided on a Christmas card.  If you're a regular visitor to my blog, you've probably seen a few Christmas cards lately.  Last year I had Christmas cards made to send out to most of my Christmas list but failed MISERABLY on getting that done, I think mainly because I was going to have to make MORE cards and just didn't find the time.  I have vowed to have MORE than enough Christmas cards made for THIS year, so I'm trying to get a couple done each month.  I thought this sketch lent itself quite well to a Christmas card.

I hope you'll play along with one of our sketches this month!  Remember, you have the entire month to play along at Stick It Down, so be sure to hop over there and link up your project.  We can't WAIT to see what you create with our sketches!  Thanks for stopping by, and happy scrapping!

Stick It Down Card Team January reveal

Happy Monday, everyone!  It's time for the Stick It Down Card Team reveal of this month's sketch!  Here's the card sketch for January:

I decided to get a jump on my Christmas cards for 2015, so I pulled out my Christmas washi tape and came up with this:

I just LOVE the Santa face washi tape!  I think it's one of my favorite Christmas patterns.  The green strip underneath the quote and the red gems came in a Christmas goodie package I purchased from my friend Sandi at Slightly Off Center when she purged her stash a few months ago.  (Thanks, Sandi!)  If you have a chance, stop by her blog, as she does some of the best staging EVER in her card and layout photos!!!  I'm going to try to do better at that this year, but Sandi's staging is some of the best I've ever seen.

The scalloped frame is from the Fancy Labels Sizzix dies from Stephanie Barnard, and I used my Cut 'n' Boss that I won at the Teresa Collins workshop last summer to cut it.  (Boy, do I LOVE that machine!!!)  The ink on the edges of the frame is Marcella by K evergreen dye ink, and I used the same ink to stamp my sentiment, which is from the Christmas Quotes set from Pink & Main.  I LOVE this sentiment set!!!  The "Ho Ho Ho!" ribbon was in my stash and was the perfect thing to add on top of the green paper.

Don't forget that we've changed things up at Stick It Down this year!  You've got the entire month to get your creation linked up to the Stick It Down blog.  We're all looking forward to seeing what you come up with!  Thanks for stopping by, and happy scrapping!

Christmas Lodge

Happy Monday, everyone!  I mentioned last week in one of my posts that I was hoping to be entering more challenges, so that's what I'm here to do!  I know it's still early for Christmas, but it's never too early to make Christmas cards!

The layered papers are from the SN@P! Color Vibe collection.  I used is the Christmas Lodge stamp set from Stampin' Up, which is one of my favorites.  After using my Sizzix Framelit set and stamping the image with StazOn Jet Black ink, I added some Star Dust Stickles to the image to simulate snow on the ground and the house.  A simple piece of Christmas ribbon added from my stash, and it's finished!

Challenges Entered:
Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' 52 Week Card Challenge
Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' June Monthly Card Challenge--Long Card
Robyn's Fetish Challenge #218--Stripes or Dots
Art by Miran Challenge #9--Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp--Anything Goes

I hope everyone has a great week!  Happy scrapping, everyone!

Dadisms

Happy Hump Day, everyone!  Ashley here with a new project for the Linnie Blooms Design Team!  I don't think I've ever used burlap on a project before, so I thought I'd try some out on a Father's Day card for my dad.

The only place I adhered the burlap to my cardstock was with the three brads in the top corner.  I actually really like the look of leaving it loose the rest of the way around.

Supplies Used
Cardstock--stash
Glitter brads--stash
Burlap--Linnie Blooms
Sizzix Framelits Fancy Labels Die Set
Ranger Archival Ink--coffee
There She Goes Clear Stamps Dadisms (no longer available)
Cuttlebug Houndstooth Embossing Folder

Be sure to check out the other projects from the Design Team members throughout the month, and I'll be back next week with my challenge project.  Happy scrapping, everyone!
