Tea Time

One of my absolute favorite things to do every time we go on a cruise is go to Tea Time!  They always have different flavored hot teas available (but you can have something else to drink if you'd like), and they make the most amazing pastries, little sandwiches, and other food.  Oh my goodness!  I always try to sample everything at least once, but sometimes I just get too full!  LOL!

What better way to remember Tea Time than to make a scrapbook page about it!

The White Coconut Creme flavored tea from Art of Tea is my absolute fave!  We're going on another cruise in May 2024, and I can't wait, because I get to go to Tea Time again!

I used a combination of elements from Carta Bella's Homemade with Love collection and Echo Park's Happiness is Homemade collection on this page.  The two bottom photos are triple matted, and I used Thickers Sparkling glitter letter stickers in Silver for the title.  I'm also entering this page for the following challenges:

613 Avenue Create--September 2023 Anything Goes (They're also having a Design Team Call!)

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope everyone has a great weekend!  Happy scrapping!

Rainbow

I hope everyone's having a great weekend!  I'm sure you're all just as ready for everything to reopen as I am, but I know we all want to keep everyone safe as well.  I'm plugging along with work, graduate school, making sure my son gets his AMI work done, and getting a little crafting in when I can.

If you've been visiting my blog any in 2020, then you know Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' has a 52-Week Layout Challenge going  We're in Week #15 right now, and my layout below is my Week #15 layout.  It also counts as my first layout for the April Monthly Layout Challenge there of "April Showers Bring May Flowers" and for my "Wood" BINGO square at Snc.

Lasting Memories March Challenge

I haven't been in the layout challenge game (on blogs, anyway) for a LOOOOONG time, so I thought I'd jump back in every now and then!  I was on the Design Team at Lasting Memories back in 2011, so I thought I'd start there.  Their first challenge for March was Mix and Match Patterned Paper, so I thought this layout fit the theme perfectly:

19 August 2018

Grand Turk beach

Hi, everyone!  It's been a while since I was here, so I hope everyone had a great summer and that things are going well for your kids if they've started school.

Today I'd like to share a layout with you that I made for my Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' group's monthly 24-Hour Challenge.  For the challenge, we initially choose three collections we own that we'd like to work with.  The hostess then pairs us up, and when it's "Go Time," she posts three sketches and lets us know which collection and sketch our partner chose for us.  We then have twenty-four hours to complete our layout and post it in our group.  It's quite fun!  This month, my partner chose for me sketch two and Me and My Big Ideas Ocean collection.

I'm also going to enter this at Lasting Memories, as their transportation prompt for this week is "Boats."  I think a cruise ship counts as a boat!  LOL!

I hope you all have a great week!  Happy scrapping!

15 February 2016

Notre Dame de Paris

I am FINALLY back on the LOAD bandwagon!  Today's prompt was colors, and the inspiration was the Australian flag, which is red, white, and blue.  I decided to focus on blue, as I found the background paper in my travel destinations papers last week.

I used the February Sketchy Saturday sketch from Paper Issues and completely flipped it, since I wanted to use the printed words on the paper as my title.

I'm really enjoying going back and scrapping photos from my Europe trips.  It's so much fun to reminisce!

Challenges Entered

02 February 2016

Mona Lisa

I decided to participate in the Layout a Day Challenge this year.  Two days into it, I am SO GLAD I did!!!  The theme of this year's challenge is "Around the World in 29 Days," so I've vowed that all of my layouts for this month will be travel related.  I really want to scrap photos of my international travels, so I should have PLENTY of topics, as I've been out of the country several times.

For LOAD1 (Layout a Day--Day 1), the prompt was Colors, specifically the colors of red, white, and blue for the flag from The Netherlands.  You could use the colors in the prompt, or you could take inspiration from the sample layout.  I chose to focus on the color of blue and to scrap a photo of the Mona Lisa.  I used the February single page sketch from Stick It Down to get started.

After trying out a couple of different things, I turned to my WONDERFUL husband for assistance!  He has great ideas and many times sees things I don't.  Thanks to his idea, my layout turned out like this:

My husband had the idea of creating a pyramid where the diamonds are on the sketch, since there is a crystal pyramid in the courtyard of The Louvre.  I didn't want to cover up the background paper, as I really love the images that are on it, so I cut squares from transparency sheets and placed them together like a pyramid.  It's also a little hard to tell from these photos, but the main color in the background paper is a very light blue.

Challenges Entered
~Lasting Memories Layout Challenges--Challenge #278--"The Blues"
~Layout a Day LOAD1
~Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' February Monthly Layout Challenges--Anything Goes #1
~Stick It Down February Single Page Sketch

Supplies Used
~Cardstock from stash
~Making Memories Passport chipboard alpha stickers
~The Paper Studio transparency sheets
~Ribbon from stash

I'll be posting my layout each day for LOAD, so be sure to stop by to what part of the world I'm going to showcase next!  Thanks for stopping by!  Happy scrapping, everyone!

01 July 2014

Italy

I can't believe it's July 1 already!  Where is the year going?  Today I'm sharing with you two layouts I created using this week's sketch at Lasting Memories.

The first layout uses the left side of the sketch and some photographs from my 2002 trip to Italy:

I really enjoyed this trip, and the visit to Vatican City was one of the highlights of my trip.  I hope to be able to take my husband and sons one day!  I'm entering this in Challenge #197--Sketch Time! at Lasting Memories; it was also entered in Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's June Monthly Layout Challenge--Geotag.

I made a second layout using the right side of the sketch and wanted to share it as well, even though I think I can only enter this challenge once.

My dad is such a wonderful man, and I probably don't tell him that enough.  I truly value his opinion, and I don't hesitate to turn to him when needed.  This layout was entered in Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's June Monthly Layout Challenge--Inspiration Photo (Super Dad).

Thanks for stopping by!

17 January 2013

Boston!

As many of you know, I'm participating (yet again!) in Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's 52 Week Layout Challenge.  The past two years I haven't made it past halfway, so I'm hoping to get all fifty-two weeks in this year!  I'm normally scrambling to get my layout done on Friday when I get home from school (since it's due by midnight on Fridays), but I actually got myself together and got it done a day early this week.

The past three years I taught at a private, all-boys military boarding school in Carlsbad, California, and was the advisor for the Harvard Model Congress team.  My co-advisor, Ethan, was the history department chairperson and was the PERFECT person to take with me!  We worked very well together, had a wonderful rapport with the boys, and had a GREAT time in Boston!  I am definitely going to miss going to Boston with them this year, but I know Ethan will do a WONDERFUL job as the new advisor.

I followed Sketch #100 at Sketches in Thyme.
Since I was only using a few pictures, I used the left side of the two-page sketch.

This week's challenge at Lasting Memories Layout Challenges is "Something Old, Something New."  I'm entering this layout over there, too, since it's about the "old" advisor (me) and the new advisor (Ethan).

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll be back next week, when I'll have another layout and card for you.  We're off to the monster truck show in Little Rock on Saturday as part of the boys' Christmas present.  Have a great weekend, and happy scrapping!
