12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop--Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!  You should have gotten here from Lori's blog.  If you just happened upon my post, head over to Lisa's blog to get started and see everyone's great projects!  This hop will take place November 24 through December 5, and the new postings each day will be posted by 8 am Eastern standard time.  This hop will be full of wonderful ideas and inspiration to get you well on your way of creating all of those beautiful Christmas projects!  This is an awesome way to get a lot of your Christmas cards and scrapbook layouts finished, home decorations completed, and maybe even be inspired to create something using a new technique that you have never tried.  There will be a new project posted each and every day by all the wonderful amazing ladies in this hop, and we will also have a guest designer or two for you to visit each day.

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

I found this idea on Pinterest and thought I'd try it myself.  I wanted to use non-traditional colors, so I chose blue and went through my button jar to find several blue and white or clear buttons I could use.  I stamped the sentiment first, so I didn't have to deal with the lumps from the buttons.  After drawing a circle very lightly, I adhered a piece of blue ribbon, then glued down (using glue dots) the buttons around the circle and filling in the center with as many buttons as I could fit.  I'm really happy with the way this turned out!

Here's the entire hop lineup for Day 1 in case you get lost:
