12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop--Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!  You should have gotten here from Lori's blog.  If you just happened upon my post, head over to Lisa's blog to get started and see everyone's great projects!  This hop will take place November 24 through December 5, and the new postings each day will be posted by 8 am Eastern standard time.  This hop will be full of wonderful ideas and inspiration to get you well on your way of creating all of those beautiful Christmas projects!  This is an awesome way to get a lot of your Christmas cards and scrapbook layouts finished, home decorations completed, and maybe even be inspired to create something using a new technique that you have never tried.  There will be a new project posted each and every day by all the wonderful amazing ladies in this hop, and we will also have a guest designer or two for you to visit each day.

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

I really like Snoopy, and I found this wooden stamp in my stash.  I'd almost forgotten about it!  I used kraft card stock for my base, stamped the image onto white card stock, then colored it with my Fibracolor markers.  I added Star Dust Stickles at the bottom of the dog house to simulate snow, before adding my sentiment.

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

This is one of my favorite cards that I made this year!  I stamped the same image three times using my Versamark pad, then heat embossed each image using a different color of embossing powder.  I finished it off with a sentiment that I think fits perfectly with this card.

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

For this card, I started by adhering my patterned paper to my card base.  I cut a second piece of patterned paper a little smaller, rounded the bottom corners, and used one of my border punches across the top.  The scalloped pink and red pieces across the center are stickers, as are the "ornaments."  The ornament strings are hand-drawn, and the sentiment is from my stash (Sorry!  I can't remember where this sentiment is from!).

Here's the entire hop lineup for Day 5 in case you get lost:

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

Another CAS card for you today!  I used a piece of kraft card stock for my base and chose three different sizes of white buttons.  The largest two have the holes going vertically to represent the buttons on the front of a snowman, and the smallest button on the top has the holes going horizontally to represent the eyes.  The hat on the snowman is hand-drawn, and after stamping the sentiment (which I think is from Studio G), I added a few rhinestones for some extra bling.

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

Today is a relatively CAS card!  I chose a piece of red, white, and green Christmas ribbon and adhered that to my base.  I cut smaller pieces of white card stock to layer with pop dots and stamped the Christmas tree before putting them together.  I added a red rhinestone for the tree topper and stamped my sentiment on the card base before adding the layers.  All done!  The tree and sentiment are both from the Stampin' Up Christmas Lodge stamp set (which is one of my faves!)

Most of the projects I will be sharing with you for this hop are Christmas cards I made this year during a Christmas in July challenge.

My card today was a pretty simply one to make.  The green card stock you see at the top is what I used for  the base of the card.  The red & white piece at the bottom is from a Christmas 6x6 paper pad I found in my stash, and I cut a piece of white card stock for the center piece and used one of my border punches on it.  I adhered a piece of ribbon across the white piece, then just layered them to achieve the look I wanted.  The holly embellishment was in my stash, and I added some red rhinestones to the holly berries for a little extra bling.

I found this idea on Pinterest and thought I'd try it myself.  I wanted to use non-traditional colors, so I chose blue and went through my button jar to find several blue and white or clear buttons I could use.  I stamped the sentiment first, so I didn't have to deal with the lumps from the buttons.  After drawing a circle very lightly, I adhered a piece of blue ribbon, then glued down (using glue dots) the buttons around the circle and filling in the center with as many buttons as I could fit.  I'm really happy with the way this turned out!

Happy Turkey Day!

I thought I would share the card I made this evening using the sketch at Mojo Monday.  Here's the sketch:

This is the Thanksgiving card I created using the sketch:

I love this turkey!  He's part of the Gobble! stamp set from There She Goes Clear Stamps, which is unfortunately now out of business.  :-(  I colored him with my Fibracolor markers, ZIG Writers, and ShinHanart Touch Twin Markers, and I used Ranger Archival Ink in Coffee on the sign.  The image and sentiment were both stamped with StazOn Jet Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to swing back around starting on Monday, November 24, for the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!  Happy scrapping!

Just buzzin' by

I really like the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week!

I whipped up this cute card this evening after dinner:

The background paper is from the 6" Glitz Cashmere Dame paper pack, and the images and sentiments are both from the bee4me set from The {Stamps} of Life.  I stamped them using StazOn Jet Black ink, then stamped the front image a second time using my VersaMark pad.  I heat embossed the edges and black stripes on the bee using ZING Embossing Powder in Black, then I added Star Dust Stickles to the inside of the wings.  I colored in the yellow with my ZIG Writer.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to swing back around on Monday, November 24, for the start of the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!  Happy scrapping!
