Lia Stampz DT Call

I've been on a DT call application kick recently and have been applying for quite a few.  Unfortunately, I haven't been chosen for any new ones yet, but I'm not giving up hope!  My latest application is for a digital stamp company called Lia Stampz.  After e-mailing the owner, I received a digital stamp via e-mail and created this card:

Here's the inside:
The Halloween cardstock was from my stash, but I believe it was from a DCWV pack from a few years ago, and the digi image is from Lia Stampz (LOVE it!!!).  I used American Traditional Designs Sticker Collection Spookytown Alphabet for "Hoot" and "Night" and finished the phrase with my Studio G alphabet stamp set using purple ink.  The stickers on the inside of the card are Jolee's Boutique Sleepy Inn.

The Lia Stampz DT call runs through June 30, so check it out!  I'm DEFINITELY a new follower!  Wish me luck in the DT call!

Happy Everything!

Happy Everything!  That's the theme for my latest card:

I started with a white blank card base from Recollections.  After using my Cuttlebug D'vine Swirl embossing folder,  I adhered the orange cardstock (from my stash) to the front of the card, then used my Martha Stewart Pinking Circle Punch All Over the Page punch (Thanks, Sandi!) to punch through the embossed cardstock and card base.  I adhered a piece of yellow patterned paper (from my stash) to the inside of the card, so the sweet little birdie would have a background.  The bird is a digital stamp from Pollycraft Designs, and I used my Fibracolor markers to color it and then Recollections adhesive circles to adhere it through the window.  The blue ribbon is from my stash, and the Happy Everything stamp is from Katie & Co and was stamped using imprintz mini pigment ink in blue.  I finished it off by adding a blue rhinestone from Queen & Co. as the dot on the 'i.'

I love that I'm getting to use this card for a couple of different things!  It's being entered at Bling It On as part of their monthly challenge and in consideration for their Design Team and submitted to the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin's monthly card challenge.  I hope you've enjoyed seeing my work!  Please come back any time! :-)

Summer card

First, I lost my mojo.  Now, it seems to be in OVERDRIVE!!!  I've really been on a roll the past few days.  Today, I worked on cleaning up my craft area and getting a box ready to mail to Nikki Sivils this week for her Joplin scrapbook supply drive.  Once I had those things done, I could get back to crafting!  Tonight, I came up with this card:

I used the card sketch at CPS-Card Sketches, so I'll be entering it in their weekly challenge, as well as the challenges at Pollycraft Designs and The Paper Variety.  Pollycraft's challenge this week is for travel/holidays cards, and TPV's challenge is for anything summer.  Luckily, this fits them both!

The paper was some I found in my stash (after sorting and reorganizing my scraps!), the sun sticker is from The Card Connection, and the center image is a digital stamp from Kenny Kiernan.  I used Fibracolor markers to color the digi stamp, and I stamped the sentiment using Studio G alphabet sets and ink.  I hope everyone is having a great summer!

Lasting Memories weekly challenge--Recycle!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It's time for another challenge from Lasting Memories!  This week, we're asking you to reuse and/or recycle things from your stash.  Here's the layout I came up with:

I used items from my Echo Park Life is Good collection, which I've had for a little while.  I also completed this layout for the 24 Hour Challenge in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin', which we have every month.  I'd been wanting to scrap these pictures for a while, but I just didn't know what papers to use.  when the 24 Hour Challenge came around and my friend Sandi chose this collection for me, it just all fell into place!
What items in your stash do you need to reuse or recycle?  We want to see what you've got!  Be sure to get your layout linked up on the Lasting Memories Layout Challenges page before Saturday night.  Good luck, and happy scrapping!

Happy Birthday card for Birthday Sundaes challenge

I'm trying to be more diligent about entering challenges on friends' blogs, so tonight I created this card for the weekly challenge at Birthday Sundaes:

Using my Cricut, I cut the crown shape and accents from the Sweet Treats cartridge and paper pieced the crown together.  After measuring the height of the crown, I cut a piece of purple cardstock that was twice the height and folded it in half.  I adhered the crown to the purple card base and used my X-Acto knife to cut around the crown shape, thereby having the fold of the card at the top.  I stamped "Happy Birthday" across the bottom using words from a birthday phrase stamp set (sorry, but I don't remember who makes it!), added Art Glitter in Cheeky Pink for some shimmer, and then found some pink gemstones in my stash for some added bling.

I've also applied for the new DT at Birthday Sundaes and would be REALLLLLLLY excited if I got chosen!  Kristie isn't going to announce the team until mid-July, though.  Wish me luck!  This card also satisfies one of the monthly card challenges (make a shaped card) in the Yahoo group Scrappin' 'n' Chattin' where I'm a moderator.  I hope everyone had a great Saturday!  Happy scrapping!

Lasting Memories weekly challenge--Inspirational Photo

Happy Father's Day!!!  I hope everyone takes the time today to think about their father and what they brought to your lives.  It's time for another weekly challenge over at Lasting Memories!  It felt good to get a layout done, as I just haven't had the scrapping mojo in a few weeks.  Maybe I'll be able to be crafty again!  This week, we have an inspirational photo for you:

Here's the layout I was able to come up with:

Everything I used on this layout came from the Sassafras Lass Amplify collection.  Since it's Father's Day, I wanted to use pictures on my layout of either my dad or my husband in a fatherly role.  When I came across these pictures, I thought they were perfect!  These were taken when we lived in Beaufort, South Carolina, probably the first summer we lived there, 2005.  Adrian was giving Kennedy his first cooking lesson.  As you can see by the pictures, Kennedy wasn't tall enough to reach the stove and had to stand on the step stool!  I think Kennedy was about five years old in this picture.

What inspiration does this photo give YOU?  We'd love to see what you've got this week!  Be sure to get your layout linked up to the website by Saturday evening, and check back to the Lasting Memories site on Sunday morning to see if your layout got chosen as one of the Top 3 and for our new challenge!  Good luck, and happy scrappin'!

Where, oh where, has my scrappin' mojo gone????

Where, oh where, has my scrappin' mojo gone????  I just haven't been able to get it going lately, and I feel really bad about that!  Being crafty is one of my favorite things in the entire world, and nothing has been coming to me lately.  I have GOT to get back in the groove!!!  I think I'm going to FORCE myself to get behind my scrap desk tonight or tomorrow and do nothing but work on layouts and cards.  Maybe THEN I'll get my mojo back!  There are a couple of design teams I want to apply to, I need to get my layout done for the new Lasting Memories challenge for next week, and I need to make Father's Day cards and an anniversary card for my parents (52 years on June 20!!!).  If anyone has any suggestions on how to get back in the groove, PLEASE send them my way!!!  I hope everyone has a great Father's Day weekend, and don't forget to check out the Lasting Memories challenge for THIS week!  You've still got the rest of today and tomorrow to get your layout linked up!
